The Aztecs were an ancient civilization found in the area of Mesoamerica, their time period was from 1350 to 1519. Now in the modern-days of Mexico City. There capital city was Tenochtitlan. Two aspects of their culture that they are known for are agriculture and human sacrifice. However, historians should emphasize human sacrifice. Human sacrifice was something that was perform mainly for the gods.

"The Aztecs empire will start to grow making them to perform more human sacrifices. This civilization will performed flower wars, flower wars are wars that they will perform in unconquered land. After the wars they will collect the flowers (people) to sacrifice them. It also shows how the Aztec empire was growing causing the Aztecs to perform more human sacrifices. If the empire was growing more people will go and the human sacrifice will increase. Moreover, human sacrifice was something that the Aztecs will do often. Based on Document D, it explains that the Aztecs will perform approximately 2,300 human sacrifices from midday to nightfall. Aztecs will believe that the gods will do human sacrifice to scare other people and make them follow their rules. Also, it was to honor their gods, the god will feel stronger and the Aztecs will believe that if they unpleased the gods they will destroy the world. Additionally, some Aztecs will have a spiritual connection to the gods by offering themselves to be sacrificed. When they will be sacrificed there blood was given to the gods.
