The dead in their stillness would become the primary objects of Jeffery Dahmer’s sexual desires which led him to his necrophilia ways (Serial Killers). Most people are not aware of the qualifications to be a serial killer. A serial killer is defined as murdering more than three over a period of than more than a thirty day period, with a quick period between each murder where they stop killing, and whose motivation for murdering is primarily based on psychological gratification. Jeffrey Dahmer was a notorious serial killer who liked to pick up men in bars telling them he was a photographer and he wanted to take their picture. Once at his place he would offer alcohol and drug them so they could not get away. Dahmer was a sadistic sexual serial killer who liked to have control over his victims even after they were dead. Dahmer who would dismember his victims’ bodies often saving their skulls or other body parts also practiced necrophilia and cannibalism.
Jeffrey Dahmer was a famous murderer from 1978 until 1991. During the time he was free he killed seventeen men by meeting them at gay bars, bus stops, and other places, promising them sex or money if they followed him home. Upon arriving to his house Jeffrey would give them drugs that were laced with alcohol before suffocating them to death. He would take pictures of the men after he killed them and proceeded to have sexual intercourse with their dead bodies. Dahmer went so far with these killings that he kept some parts of the bodies as souvenirs such as, their genitals, tongues, and skulls.
Edmund Kemper was a serial killer who was known for the murdering of his grandparents, his mother and her friend, and six female hitchhikers. During his childhood, there were many early signs of violence and criminality. Kemper was said to have a “dark fantasy life” and would often dream about killing his own mother when he was younger (Biography.com Editors). Furthermore, Kemper participated in the act of animal torturing at a very young age. When he was ten years old, Kemper “buried a pet cat alive; once it died, he dug it up, decapitated it and mounted its head on a spike”.
He started with joggers or hitchhikers, all of his victims were African American. He either ‘kidnapped’ them or he lured them into his house. First he would subdue his victims until they were either unconscious or hurt badly, and then he would tie them to the bed and do horrendous things with their bodies, when they are dead, he will dismember the bodies and store them in his house. After his first kill, his father and new financée went back to the old family residence and seen his son was living by himself. In the following months, Dahmer enrolled in college at Ohio State University.
with police and a pathologist deciding she had been hacked to death, then cut into pieces with a power saw (Hugh). On February 5, 1973, after a warmed contention with his mom, Kemper went out looking for conceivable casualties (Ramsland, More Victims). With elevated doubt of a serial executioner going after wanderers in the Santa Cruz zone, understudies were encouraged to just get into autos with University stickers on them. Kemper had such a sticker as his mom worked at UCSC (Larson, Santa Cruz Serial Killer Spotlighted in TV Documentary). He experienced 23-year-old Rosalind Heather Thorpe and 20-year-old Alice Helen "Allison" Liu on the UCSC grounds.
There are other violent crimes and other than gang violence or juveniles who kill their parents. There are juvenile who rape and shoot up their own schools. With that being said I will talk about a juvenile who raped and murdered two young girls and two young boys who shoot up their high school. On October 17, 1987, then 17-year-old Karla Homolka met then 23-year-old Paul Bernardo in an Ontario hotel restaurant. Their physical attraction was immediate and intense, and two hours later the couple had sex in one of the hotel’s rooms.
A serial killer can best be described as a person who commits a series or murders, often with no apparent motive and typically following a characteristic, predictable behavior pattern. A disturbing fact about serial killers is that most of them should be eminently identifiable. Serial killers commit their acts specifically in one place, therefore, give the residents of the community, its police force, and even their neighbors ample opportunity to find out what they are. The fact they are not caught is attributed to three factors. The first being the characteristics of the victims, which in Jeffrey Dahmer's case he prayed mostly on gay men.
Mass murderers and serial killers are nothing new to today’s society. We learn about them in TV shows, books, research papers, in our classes, etc. Psychologists have spent decades trying to uncover the truth behind these killers’ madness. Serial killers vary in their behaviors, techniques, desires, mental illnesses and their personal lives. Have you ever heard of the Tamiami Trail Killer?
Introduction I. Look around this school and think about exactly how many students are here daily. How would you feel if I told you that one out of every twenty five people are sociopaths(Pratt 2006).The fact of the matter is that not everyone who is a sociopath is a serial killer but oddly enough it has been proven that all serial killers are sociopaths. II. I have chosen serial killers that I found intriguing and that I thought not many people would know a lot about.
When he visited the gay bars often had to offer the boys or men money to lure them to his apartment (Schwartz,1992). As stated in Ewing (2006), in November, Dahmer committed his second murder, but Dahmer never recalled how the man died, just that carried the body in a suitcase to his grandmother’s house. At the house he told authorities he masturbated on the body, skinned and dismembered it and threw the remains of the body in the trash. Dahmer’s killing spree would rapidly escalated nearly two months after the second homicide and would last for about three and half years before the police would finally catch him (Ewing,2006). According to Schwartz (1992), later in Dahmer’s confession he said, “he killed his victims to prevent them from leaving”.
