I thought Stargirl was acting weird the other day like she was upset. I was very surprised because I have never seen her upset. I didn’t talk to her though because the whole school has been shunning her and I didn’t want to stand out. Yesterday, I saw her and she was wearing normal clothes like everyone else. She didn’t have her ukulele or her sunflower canvas bag she always carried around. I could believe my eyes as I watch her walk through the hallways. I thought maybe all this shunning was really getting to her and she was trying to be normal. I talked to Dori about it and she was really mad. She was mad the Stargirl was trying to change to impress and be like everyone. Dori liked Stargirl better just the way she was. When she wasn’t trying

So here you are, at the top of a mountain on an isolated island in the Pacific, with a camera-ready serial killer holding a machete inches from your face. Not how you thought this day would go. The mother was seen in the office today by me again. It was a result of my calling her up yesterday that she showed up. Her dress was very simple, not what I espected at all. She seem ambivalent about coming to see me – didn’t know what I was going to do I guess. Most of the time we talked about Charlie.

Usually, nothing significant happens in your day, so you don’t remember it down the line. For example, would you be able to tell me what you have for breakfast last Wednesday? Could you tell me what you did in the afternoon two Saturdays ago? Since nothing particular stands out in my life, I couldn’t tell you. Adnan Syed however, had an extremely eventful day January 13, 1999 considering his ex-girlfriend, Hae Min Lee was gruesomely murdered.
The novel Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli shows how being yourself can be good for you, but not always for the people around you. John F. Kennedy’s famous quote, “Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth,” relates to the novel, since it relates to the theme. Stargirl is a prime example of this quote. She was shunned by the student body for not conforming to the MAHS norms and being forced to act differently to be the same as everyone else to blend in with others. The first example of the theme in this novel is that Stargirl dresses differently than the people around her.
Massachusetts, 1692... what an awful time to be alive. Especially for a young, timid girl by the name of Clarabeth. Not exactly the most special of girls, just a hard worker for her family, an all around fair person. Unfortunately, Clarabeth woke from an unpleasant sleep with a start on a gloomy August twilight, to the sound of people shouting and an accused “witch” tied to a stake, crying with the force of a tidal wave, pleading to be let down.
Dear Mrs. Wilbur, Deathwatch A lot has happened in the past year, and it is still fresh in my mind. I remember the fear and the pain of being out there. I remember the fear of suffocating under the sand. I remember the fear of dying because of thrist and hunger.

It was quiet when I first walked in. No other customers, just me and the rebel barber, the summer heat only making me long for a cool drink. He began to shake. Maybe he believed he could conceal the slight tremble in his hands.

I’m Helen Robinson, Tom Robinson’s wife. There was a timeframe in the book just after Tom was killed, before Helen could find a secure way to earn money for her family; it was a very unstable time for her and her children. Although Helen is portrayed as meek and kindhearted, much like Tom, the overwhelming sadness and pressure may have caused her to break down emotionally, or feel some emotions of vengeance towards a majority of the white community; especially the Ewells. In the novel, the black church provides her with funding and support while Tom is in court.
[The camera starts on a street sign that says Maple Street. Pans down onto a chaotic street with violence.] Narrator- This is Maple Street, USA. This street once was a happy street where neighbors sat on gliders and chatted from their porch, while children played and ate ice cream from the ice cream vendor.
