In the summer of 1776, Thomas Jefferson may have wrote the best “breakup letter” ever. Jefferson included in his letter a long list of grievances against the British and King George. In the long list of grievances he included: America's Declaration Of Independence against Great Britain. While Jefferson was writing the Declaration Of Independence; he felt like he was writing his death sentence and so did the signers of the document. Some topics that he included in the Declaration were how Thomas Jefferson was tired of how the king treated the American citizens, Equality, The Right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, Consent of the Governed, and Alter or abolish the government.

Clinton signed a fiscal year 1993 appropriations act that conveyed title of the island back to the state and entered into a memorandum of understanding with the state about cleaning up and controlling the land. Whereas twenty-one Cherokees signed away all the Cherokee land east of the Mississippi river without any of Cherokee Council having signed the document or even having taken part in the drafting of the treaty, we the Cherokee Nation Are asking for a review of the circumstances of the treaty. This Treaty of New Echota was engineered by one John Ridge and supported by John F. Schimmerhorn is not supported by the Majority of the Cherokee Peoples. The monetary offering of $4.5 million to leave Georgia peacefully however generous, will not benefit the Cherokee Nation but will most likely fill the pockets of the drafters of this treaty. Everyone played a very important role in the Constitutional Convention or the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The Constitutional Convention is rather known for attempting to modify the Articles of Confederation, but the delegates came up with the Virginia Plan which divided the powers within 3 branches of government. The signing of the Declaration of Independence is the most significant event in American History. What many may know as 13 of the 50 states of America before were 13 colonies of the British Empire. The Declaration of Independence was a document stating that they are no longer a part of the British Empire, who which they were at war with at the time.
In 1742 the chief of Onondaga of the Iroquois Confederacy knew that his land that the people shared would become more valuable than it has ever been. This was a political change because the government that they were supposed to trust to help the people weren't doing that, because of changing circumstances. The relationship that the Native Hawaiians and their government had with each other was negatively changed, as they had to adapt to changes with little support because the government was slowly losing control and stability. They couldn’t even rely on their land agents to be fair and help them
The independent state was led by a hereditary monarchy. As Americans planned their next move they waited with anxiety on the located island. The ultimate climax arose in 1890 when congress approved the Mckinley tariff which had an impact on foreign sugar. The Mckinley tariff destroyed Hawaii’s favored position in the sugar trade by putting the sugar of all countries on the duty free list and granting growers in the continental United States a 2 cent subsidy per pound of sugar. This change led to an economic crisis in Hawaii and brought political turmoil as well.
On July of 1887, King David Kalakaua was forced to sign the Bayonet Constitution and although he disagreed, the presence of the Honolulu Rifles forced him to sign it. This removed the power he had and gave the power to the cabinet. This was the first step to the overthrow. When King David Kalakaua died on Jan 20, 1891, his sister, Liliuokalani took the throne. With Queen Liliuokalani rising, Lorrin A. Thurston and other members of the Hawaiian League formed the Committee of Safety, a group that focused on overthrowing the Queen.

Imperialism was a controversial idea that a nation can extend its power outward through means of diplomatic or military force. This often results in a shift of power from one major force currently in control to another. The people of that nation under control conflict may also experience wars, rebellions, or cultural destruction. Looking at some of these events, we see some positives and negatives of imperialistic action taken by the United States, and how it affected the nations imperialized by the United States. For starters, let’s look at Hawaii’s annexation.
Throughout history there have been many Queens. All over the world, many monarchies had an influence on their people. Such was the same during the 19th century in Hawaii. Before the United States took over, was Queen Liliuokalani. Queen Liliuokalani may be called a hero if we define the term as a person who, endowed with extraordinary qualities of heart and mind, determined to achieve a near impossible goal to restore monarchy powers and succeeds in the face of serious opposition against the United States.
During this time, the Hawaii had earned a new leader, known as Queen Liliuokalani, who viewed the majority of Hawaii’s problems caused by the foreign interference of the United States. Moreover, in the year of 1893, the planters had felt as if in order for the conflict of the “McKinley Tariff”
In the letter, the Cherokee nation addresses several reason on why they should not have to move. One reason is that the new land if foreign to them. They are being expected to pack up, leave everything they know, and move to the unknown. Another reason to add on to the above is that there are other Native American tribe already
Today, Hawaii had one of the world's’ most multicultural populations. If we didn’t imperialize on Hawai who knows what history could be like today, but I know it has helped the U.S. in battles, economy, and dominance over communist countries today. Today, Hawaii is granted representation in the congress and senate, and the birthplace of our current president, Barack Obama. Hawaii, as a U.S. state, is guaranteed the freedom of all citizens and safe from foreign aggression. If we didn’t imperialize on Hawai who knows what history could be like today, but I know it has helped the U.S. in battles, economy, and dominance over communist countries
The United State’s annexation of Hawaii in 1898 led to the gradual destruction of the Hawaiian culture and the almost-extinction of native-born Hawaiians. The majority of the Hawaiian natives opposed the annexation of Hawaii and wanted to maintain their sovereignty. Although the Japanese could have taken over the Hawaiian islands if the United States had not, the annexation of Hawaii by the U.S. was unjustified because of the treatment of the monarchy and natives, the infringement of the natives’ self-established culture and government, and the natives’ overwhelming opposition to the U.S’s involvement in Hawaii. From 1795 to 1874, the Kamehameha Dynasty ruled over the kingdom of the Hawaiian islands. Up until the death of Kamehameha III, the U.S. had stayed out of interfering with the islands.
