During the Holocaust, the jews in the Warsaw ghetto faced many hardships. In this paper I will give my input on the jews hardships, and how they managed to survive despise being oppressed by the germans. On November 16, 1940, all the jews in the currently-occupied polish city of Warsaw were forced into a ghetto, which was only 2.4% of the total land mass of the city. To put that into perspective, during that time there was 375,000 jews living in Warsaw. That means a single building housed multiple families of jews.
WWII Rough Draft The Holocaust all started back in 1933 when a leader named Adolf Hitler started a Nazi group that were out to kill Jews. The concentration camps detained jews in horrible conditions.

The Holocaust started when Hitler gained power in Germany in 1941 and led the Nazis in a mass murder. One by one the Nazis tried to clear out the population of not only Jewish people, but also the mentally and physically disabled, gypsies, and homosexuals; more than 6 million people were killed. It was a time where you were told how you should act and what you should believe and if you chose to be different you were tortured and killed (Holocaust Encyclopedia). Significance:
After being named Chancellor, Hitler began what is known as the Holocaust. The Holocaust started on January 30, 1933 and lasted until May 8, 1945. The Holocaust was the mass murder of 6 million Jews (1.5 million of them being children). The Germans started burning the books that the Jews had written, removing Jews from their occupations and their schools, and taking their businesses and properties(An Introductory History of the Holocaust-Jewish Virtual Library). The Jews were forced from their houses to go to live in ghettos away from all society(An Introductory History of the Holocaust-Jewish Virtual Library).
The holocaust took place during WWII. At this time the chancellor of Germany know as Adolf Hitler had ordered a crusade against the jewish race. In this time period over 6 million jewish people including men women and children. Families were stripped from their homes with nearly all of their possessions removed from them. Everyone who has learned about World War II should know about the Holocaust. The Holocaust was during the same period of World War II. “What is it called the Holocaust?” you may ask. The Holocaust originates from the Greek language and means “completely burnt offering to God.”
The Holocaust is a time in history when millions of people were persecuted in Europe by being sent to live in ghettos and eventually being deported to concentration camps where they were systematically annihilated until the Allied forces liberated the remaining survivors. The Jews were moved to the ghettos, because Hitler pushed the Jews to move to the east, then they concore move of the east and move them more to the east. Then “there was no more room for them to move to the east, so they built ghettos for them to live” (Byers 32). But his true intentions were to “separate the Jewish people from manly Germans and also other races” (Allen 37).
The Holocaust is the deadliest recognized genocide in human history. It lasted from January 30,1933 – May 8,1945 and would result in the l1 million deaths. The causes of the Holocaust begin at the end of World War One with what Germans referred to as “the stab in the back”. This was a myth that claimed the German Army did not loose World War One but was betrayed by the Jewish population who gave up land and supplies to the Allies. As this spread anti-Semitism or hate for Jewish people grew in Germany as people viewed the Jewish population as deceptive and traitorous.
The word Holocaust itself comes from the Greek words holos and kaustos, which means burned as whole. It also signifies a tradition in which the Jews burned people as sacrifices for their Gods. Before the Holocaust, the Jews in Germany and Western Europe were a part of the nation; they only differed in their religion. They had the same rights and opportunities as the Germans there. Nearly two-thirds of the 500,000 Jews were engaged in trade and commerce, one quarter worked in industry, and about one-eighth were in public service and the professions--mainly law and medicine.
The Holocaust was a horrific tragedy which started in January of 1933 and ended in May of 1945, the Holocaust was the mass murder of millions of people. The word was derived from the Greek word that meant Sacrifice to the Gods (Steele 7), also called the Shoan which is the Hebrew word for catastrophe (Steele 7). So many countries took place in this 12-year genocide, including, “Germany, Italy, Japan, Romania, Hungary, and Bulgaria, which were also known as the Axis Powers” (Steele 34). But, although there were all those countries they were all part of one larger group called the Nazis, were the ones who were killing all the different denominations of people. (Bachrach 58).
