As a user using these skills such as inference, deduction, interpretation and evaluation is important to recognize what is good to use and what is not. Rhetorical Analysis In the article “Is Google Making us Stupid?”, author Nicholas Carr expresses his idea that the internet is taking over society and our thinking process. Google is affecting our abilities to read books, longer articles, and even older writings. Carr believes that we have become so accustomed to the ways of the internet, and we are relying on Google 's ability to sort through the details for us so we don 't have to, in order to get the information we find necessary more efficiently. He finds that this process has become almost too handy, and that it is corrupting us from becoming better educated.

Carr expresses that the Internet is significantly decreasing our ability to concentrate and process thoughts for an extensive period of time. He believes this is because of our large dependence on the Internet. Carr is able to connect with this idea as he feels that, like other Internet users, his cognitive behavior has changed. Research using the internet is becoming an ambiguous development. No longer is it the norm to use a library in order to amass the information needed.

When registering for this class, a wave of worry ran through me, because I had minimal skill when it came to writing, particularly in the field of formal writing. The high school I attended was academically poor, we never wrote formal papers, just informal book and movie responses. Therefore I was apprehensive about this class. This course was quite intricate, but I attend skills that will aid me for the rest of my academic career. Rhetorical knowledge, critical inquiry, process, and conventions are all concepts I have acquired.
