Winter of 1777, Valley Forge was a refuge for many soldiers like me. After retreating from Howe’s army, General Washington along with the half the Continental army had set up base for three months. The small camp with few necessities was 18 miles away from Pennsylvania. The camp was a snow covered area, with small wood lodges that were not ventilated, no meat, low food supply, tattered clothes and shoes, and injuries from walking. Consider being surrounded with all of theses atrocious circumstances, then ask yourself, would you stay at Valley Forge? My decision was not to stay because of the illness and death rate, the harsh weather and living conditions, and major lack of vital supplies.

At the time in which segregation was a law, the door of opportunity was shut and it was African American students who opened it. These students were the Little Rock Nine. When they integrated, segregationists did anything they could to prevent it, even breaking the law. As the Little Rock Nine arduously entered Central High, they had no idea their lives would be turned completely upside down. This flip in their lives allowed them to have a voice. Going from being shunned upon for speaking up, to having power and a voice in deciding their future. Though it may seem President Eisenhower, the media, Governor Faubus -the governor of Arkansas at the time- or the segregationists had the most power, the Little Rock Nine out matched all of them.

The colonists didn’t have any experience with keeping things sanitary due to this lack of experience they contributed to the disease and death going around Jamestown. In document A it said, “ colonists dug shallow wells to supply themselves with sources of drinking water.” This shows that they were uneducated in keeping things sanitary and safe, because if they were educated in starting a new colony they would have known that digging a shallow well would only bring in salt water which is deadly when ingested abundantly. Death was an incessant factor of the Jamestown colonists’ morality. In around 1607, the English set foot on the James River in Virginia. From there to 1611, a total of 500 colonists would arrive and in that same amount of time, 400 of them would be dead. The largest, pestering question is why? There were three main reasons to answer this hysterical question. First, the colonists had terrible water problems that befell them. Second, they lacked hugely indispensable key skills. Third, these colonists had horrendous relations with the Powhatans.

Many soldiers started to quit, but I was one of many who decided to stay. One reason I have decided to stay is because of the estimate or death and illness’ to the people who stayed alive.(Doc.A) In the chart from Document A, it shows that the low estimate of soldiers who died at Valley forge is only 2500. This means that about 8,000 people stayed alive. Another reason I have choose to stay is because of the housing.(Doc.B) The engraving from Document B shows how nice the housing is. At Valley forge, there are log cabins, that are great and keep you nice and warm for the winter.

When the spanish invaded my group was worried because they might become slaves and obey them. I think that Montezuma had to become a slave because a slave but im not to sure. There consaques was to obey them and do whatever the king or leader say to them for what they can do. If they didnt obey them they would pronaly die. Valley Forge is a winter camp set up by george washington and his troops. The camp was horrible! They were low on supplies, and not prepared. People died of illness and disease. It was a fight against disease, nature, and themselves.

In the mid-19th Century Europe, between 1750 and 1850, consisted of instability in families, due to the transition of the industry, therefore, emerged society to adapt. This industrial era impacted the lives in society, however, it all seemed normal. Although it appeared to be normal, it examined the differences in genders and their social classes. In addition, the importance of the industrial era allowed society to experience a unique way of living. The insecurity of this industrial age ultimately led insecurity discrepancies in families.

This camp, who took the lives of so many, is Valley Forge, a camp where soldiers have lived ever since the start of the Winter of 1777. General Washington had retreated from New York City in October to Pennsylvania, and then decided to set up camp in Valley Forge. There, they were tasked with building huts, which had to sleep 12 men on the floor. Here, they faced many problems, such as the harsh cold and soldiers deserting, running away from these bleak conditions. At Valley Forge, a soldier with common sense would have easily made the decision to leave the army due to a lack of food and clothes, the weather and poorly built huts, and due to illness.

I want to quit Valley Forge. Valley Forge is near Philadelphia and was a campsite for Washington’s Continental Army. They fought off the cold, harsh winter, poor food, hard lodging, fatigue, nasty cloaths, and nasty cookery waiting it out. I would want to quit Valley Forge because of all the illnesses and deaths that were there. At first, there was about 12,000 people at the beginning of Valley Forge, 49% of those people were sick and half of those people ended up dead. It took more than 200 years for India to shake the oppressive rule of the British. Britain seized control of Indian territory until they controlled the whole sub-continent. At first india was treasured by the British more for its potential rather than its actual profit. Its 300 million people were also a large potential market for British made products. Although Britain created sound law against killing, economic opportunities and health related advancements they caused more harm than good.

Valley Forge was a winter camp for Washington’s soldiers. During this time many died and got sick, but they also trained and got stronger as an army. Even though the colonists had a rough time at Valley Forge, I would have stayed. First off, in the engraving by William Henry Powell, Washington presented his soldiers to the Congressional Committee. Washington is telling the Committee about how he trained the colonists while at Valley Forge. This shows that even though they were starving, sick, and close to death, many soldiers continued to train and get stronger, which ends up paying off. Also, in the writing The American Crisis by Thomas Paine, he writes about how rough of a time the soldiers faced and how the men trained at this time.

What horrible things did the continental army have to suffer in their six- month encampment? They experienced hunger, diseases, and death. Since it was cold some couldn 't bathe causing them to have bad hygiene. Also at the time smallpox and pneumonia was being spread. Since there weren 't many medical supplies, some couldn 't be treated. The soldiers also slept in small canvas that was weak and didn 't, provide any protection from the snow. This resulted in them having diarrhea, dysentery, and fevers. With so many sicknesses going around about 2,000 out of 12,000 people died.
