Gatsby relies on many people or objects that for him are symbols. People give Gatsby motivation to do things for love, work, and friendships.
The green light represents gatsby 's hopes and dreams that in the future he will be with the love of his life daisy she is the one who motivates him to live. The light represents him and his goals if he reaches his goals that light will seem closer to him in his mind he believe that light brings a special connection. If he reaches he believe that daisy will be with him and that nothing will stop them from being together. His love for daisy is unconditional he won 't stop he will get thru anything anyone to get daisy to love him he will do anything for her. Scott Fitzgerald, the title character Jay Gatsby is dreaming about a reunion with the love of his life. Throughout the story the Green Light at the end of his dream girl’s dock becomes a recurring symbol for his dream of getting her back.
The use of green in relation to Gatsby’s love for Daisy has a few interpretations. One possible meaning of the green light is that it represents hope and the future. At the end of the novel, Nick tells us that, “Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us” (182). Gatsby believed that the green light represented a future life with Daisy. Nick does not exactly refute this claim, but seems to have less hope in the future, saying that “It eluded us then, but that’s no matter” (182).

Nick had referred to it as being a hopeless future that is possible only in our dreams, which drifts further every day. People are coerced into thinking that they will have a better tomorrow, fighting for a better future but it is hopeless. They will continue their struggles and face all the hardships of reality, against everything life puts them through, only to end up close to where they started. No matter what they do to convince themselves that they can change for a better life, in the end, their pasts are going to decree what they do in life and there is no other way about it.
