“Rikki-Tikki-Tavi” The short story “Rikki-Tikki-Tavi” written by Rudyard Kipling, is about a young mongoose who portrays human characteristics such as bravery and curiosity. For example, when Nagaina tried to hide from Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, “She plunge[s] into the rat hole where she and Nag used to live, his little white teeth were clenched on her tail, and he went down with her-and very few mongoose… care to follow a cobra into its hole.” Rikki-Tikki went down the rat hole because he wanted to kill Nagaina so that the bungalow would be safe. This proves that Rikki-Tikki is brave because he put his life in danger for the better good of those he loves. In addition, when Rikki-Tikki was taken into the bungalow he explored every inch of it:
