The word myth comes from the Greek word mythos, which means story. It can also mean sacred story, classical story or stories of the gods.

Some people believe in myths and use it for spiritual growth. Others believe that myths are fake, untrue. What we concider myths today in ancient Greece myths were teachings about their gods, heroes, and the nature of the world, and part of their religion.

In China, mythology is formed sometimes on purpose by religious faith and philosophy. It is also shaped by the fear of outsiders. Chinese mythology is wide-ranging and multilayered
