Many people are to hold responsible for the tragic death of Romeo and Juliet. The parents themselves are the most to blame. The second most responsible are Tybalt and Mercutio. Finally, after the first two stated, Friar Laurence is held responsible. The Capulet and Montague families are guilty for the death of their children. First off, they never bothered to end the feud and state it publicly. If they had done so, Romeo and Juliet wouldn’t have to go through so much trouble to be with each other. The two families should have been more open minded so that their children didn’t have to be so secretive. However, the Capulet’s were more responsible than the Montagues, because they ignored Juliet’s wishes and wanted to force her into marrying Paris. They also ruined the Friar’s plans by moving the marriage a day early. Both parents can easily be concluded guilty for the tragic end, however, they’re not alone. …show more content…

Their strong urge to always begin a brawl, lead to their own deaths and Romeo’s banishment. Their deaths increased hatred amongst the families, while Romeo’s banishment caused Juliet’s depression, encouraging the Capulet family to arrange her wedding with Paris. Mercutio also placed a curse on both the Montagues and the Capulets which played out when Romeo and Juliet died. Tybalt was, of all the people in the story the most determined and passionate in furthering the feud. Mercutio saw the feud as a game, that he loved playing.
