Who would you blame for the death of Romeo and Juliet? In the play The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet there were many people who could have caused the death of Romeo and Juliet. Some might blame it one both of their parents, Juliet and the Friar, but, Romeo was one that stood out. Romeo was one that should be blamed because he also caused the deaths of Mercutio, Tybalt, and Paris. Another reason Romeo should be blamed is for not thinking things out straight and rushing everything with Juliet. Finally, Romeo should be blamed because he went to someone to get a poison from Apothecary to end his life after Juliet’s death.
Romeo has caused so many people to die in the play The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet even his very close friend Mercutio. In the play The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet Mercutio says, “No ‘tis not so deep as a well, nor so wide as a church door; but ‘tis enough, ‘twill serve… A plague a both your houses”(Shakespeare 428)! Romeo had caused the death of Mercutio because he blocked him and let Tybalt kill him. After the fight with Mercutio and Tybalt Romeo goes after Tybalt and Kills him. Benvolio says, “Romeo, away, be gone! The citizen are up, and Tybalt slain. Stand not amazed. The Prince will doom thee death If thou art taken. Romeo decided to go to the party and he kisses Juliet while he was there. Juliet says to Romeo, “Saints do not move, though grant for prayers’ sake”( Shakespeare 394).
