Adolfo Davis committed murder at 14 years old and was sentenced to a life in prison. The judge argued that Adolfo had known what he was doing during the robbery. She has a point that Adolfo could have changed his mind at the time of the robbery. Also Adolfo had numerous opportunities to get help and leave the gang. He could have called the police and report his situation. That way he would have been protected by the gang from the police.
However, Adolfo got involved with the gang because it was his only way to survive. His family didn’t have the resources to provide for him. In the same way, Adolfo was ordered by two older gang members to murder the victim. If he didn’t, Adolfo would have gotten hurt instead because he was put in a life and
