Civic engagement is a fundamentally important issue as it is an essential component of a large number of universities’ educational experience. The main aim of this essay is to describe and evaluate the integral elements of any civic engagement program. The first section will deal with the meaning of civic engagement, its objectives and the characteristics of a successful civic engagement program according to published studies and research articles. The second section will evaluate civic engagement programs that have already been implemented as well as my personal experience with civic engagement. Finally, based on the previous evaluations, a proposal will be presented to further develop a more successful and productive civic engagement program
To increase the number of students continuing higher education, the future research work is towards the design of a system for students to choose courses in the Indian universities using Learning Analytics. An efficient course advisory system can enhance the student performance. Such course advisory system minimizes the drop outs in higher education due to improper course selection. Course advisory systems also help the higher education institutions to plan the education system by knowing the demand for each course in an efficient way. Course advisory systems assist the teachers to discharge their duty by knowing the students strengths and other capabilities.
Leadership requires broad thinking and this work with Grand City University is helping me expand my thoughts. Buller (2015) wrote extensively about both implementing changes and the necessary consideration for the people involved in those changes. As we went through the second simulation, internal partnerships and mission motivated my decisions. Leaders must address stakeholder concerns if we plan to enter into this or any other form of partnership. University-corporate partnerships have an established history (Ryan & Heim, 1997), which will help us glean insight to make them work for our stakeholders.
Design and implement a nationally coordinated program of research that is responsive to local conditions and requirements. 6. Contribute to the development and implementation of a national IPE knowledge management strategy. Another interesting summary that describes some critical elements for Implementing Inter-professional Education has been outlined by Buring et al. Identifying services that predict student academic success and persistence among TRIO student is important for staff and higher education leaders at Johnston Community College. Jones and Watson (1990) noted that retention or persistence issues are critical to institutional planning and funding. Planning and funding have been greatly affected by the student retention rates. The findings from this study will also help to provide pertinent information on how to improve services that foster student success and leadership skills. This study is significant in that it will examine the factors that critically influence academic success and persistence of students enrolled in the TRIO program at Johnston Community College in Smithfield,
There are a variety of means on how to test different learning styles. They can range from personality traits test to learning style inventories. Kolb’s Learning Style Inventory and Hermann’s Brain Dominance Instrument are just two of the many tests available. “The importance of evaluating students’ learning styles and developing instructional methods that teach to specific learning styles has gained considerable support in the field of education, with many organizations and companies offering professional development courses for teachers and educators focused on the topic of learning styles” (Rogowsky et. al., 2015, p. 13).
In your own words, what is the difference between a practitioner-scholar and a scholar-practitioner? The Practitioner-scholar model is a learning model used in higher education and is an advanced educational model that has its focus on the practical application of scholarly knowledge (McClintock, (2003). Scholar practitioners are committed to learning new ways to be effective. They do this by using scholarly research and practical application to help clients and colleagues solve problems within their field. Their professional activities and the knowledge they develop are based on collaborative learning.
I consider it the gateway to my comprehension of these educational theories. This paper analyzes how the EDU310 course has influenced my understanding of social justice and diversity advocacy in the education system. EDU310 focuses majorly on the dynamic theoretical models applied in the learning environment to encourage active learning and teaching (Phoenix University,
D. program, my goals in the short term will be to reinforce my technical knowledge and work on research that will enhance my skills in communication technology and extend the abstract understanding of utilization and generation of information. Upon completion of the Ph. D. program, my long-term objective is to get a research position in a learning institution where I will be able to share my experience and skills with other individuals passionate about the course. My extensive experience in the job market and exposure to numerous management disciplines will be a firm foundation for my studies towards my Ph. D. at your institution.
New technologies are not only improving the way of teaching and learning, but they are also ameliorating the effectiveness and security of university campuses. A campus can be traditionally considered y as (Kwok, 2015) a piece of land on which buildings of an educational establishment are constructed. There are libraries, classrooms, residential halls, student centers, dining halls, and recreation areas. Intelligent technologies can be applied to many administrative areas of the campus such as energy management, operations management and security management in order to facilitate communication between students and professors, increase efficiency and provide a better security. The intelligent campus is “intelligent” because it increases the
