Though Fred Wilson specializes in creating works of art that represent his perception of American history and American society as a whole, Wilson’s Drip Drop Plop came into creation as a representation, primarily, of Americas repetitive racial history against African Americans. When Fred Wilson was asked to be the American representative at the Venice Biennale, Wilson thought that it would be best to incorporate glass unto his work, something that Venice is well familiarized with, taking in mind that it is a city generally known for its glass manufacturing. The medium which Fred Wilson chose consisted of black glass shaped in the form of droplets and puddles. He chose to work particularly with black glass for his display as a representation
Nestled in the foothills of the Texas Hill Country, Austin is the southernmost state capital in the continental United States. Austin is currently the nation's fastest-growing city and has an estimated population of more than 932,000 people. The city was named for Stephen F. Austin, who is known as the "Father of Texas." However, it did not always bear Austin's name, nor was it always the capital of Texas.
Romanesque architecture started around 1000 to 1200 AD around the middle ages, extending from the decline of the Roman Empire until the begging of gothic architecture. It is one of the most influenced styles of architecture but also one of the most hard to characterize. Unlike other styles it developed independently in diverse locations such as Italy, Spain, England and France. Its characteristics come from the ancient roman architecture that developed into bigger prettier and more complex constructions. However, there are different views in where it spread first as well as where it got more influence from. Throughout this paper, it will be discussed its different origins, characteristics and how it developed throughout time.
Its thermal conductivity is 0.025 W/mK so very little heat is transferred through it. Which is needed as a building loses a lot of its heat through its walls. Polyurethane board also has a low moisture vapour permeability and a high resistance to water absorption stopping the water from being able to penetrate the walls and getting into the house reducing the chance of damp areas appearing. Different types of polyurethane board have different properties with some costing more than a normal board due to these properties. Some boards are able to contain fire resistant properties and others are denser making them stronger. The type of board I will be using has a density of 100 kg/m but will retain the same thermal conductivity but using a different grade of polyurethane foam that has fire resistant properties. This type of insulation has a relatively high compressive and tensile strength but during its production it does give off quite large amounts of Co2 and does contain toxic materials that could prove to be harmful to the surrounding environment. Although more costly the insulation having a higher strength and fire resistance will ensure that less maintenance will have to occur and so could be less expensive long
Maslow’s hierarchy of needs states that humans essentially “need” five things; one of the principal of those needs is safety. When we think of safety we tend to think of shelter, our dwelling, the place where we live. In metaphors, the four walls of that dwelling get the most notoriety. In reality, our roof is most the most important part of our dwelling in keeping us safe and protected from the elements Mother Nature can throw at us. A well built home can last centuries. The walls rarely if ever need to be replaced. But what about that all-important part, the roof? In North Texas, roofs can be need replacing many times in the life of the home.

The Middle colonies often share a great many of the same characteristics including symmetry, similar siding, windows, entries, and finishes both inside and out. Where the Dutch Revival is most obviously different is in its distinctive profile; it 's not uncommon to hear it described as a "barn house."The gambler roof allowed a complete second story to be built at minimal expense. Another advantage, as seen in the 1798 Federal Direct Tax records, was that gambler-roofed houses were classified for tax purposes as one-story homes, which allowed them to be taxed at a lower rate than two-story houses.
The Industrial Revolution took place from the late 18th to mid 19th century. It was a time during which rural societies in Europe and America became urbanized and industrialized. Preceding the Industrial Revolution, manufacturing was mostly done in people’s homes, using handtools and simple machines. Industrialization was characterized by powered, specialized machinery, factories and mass production. Most notably, during the Industrial revolution, iron and textile industries boomed, the steam engine was developed, and improved systems of transportation, communication and banking arose (Calvert 5). A time of innovation and
A homeowner can never be too careful when it comes to the roof of their residence. The roof serves many functions, yet mainly protects the home and its contents from the elements. One must be vigilant as a small leak often develops into a much larger one when it isn 't fixed in a timely manner, leading to costly repairs in the home thanks to water damage. In addition, when a potential buyer looks at a home, he or she needs to ensure a thorough roof inspection is completed to identify any problems and have them corrected before the sale goes through. Robbins Roofing takes on these and other tasks for homeowners in Oklahoma City, Yukon, Midwest City, Edmond, Mustang, Norman and Tulsa and also works with businesses to ensure their roof is functioning

Its purpose is to help students establish leadership qualities and allows them to interact with new people. They have recently contacted FFA advisors from the district asking for donations for a new charcoal grill. The one they previously had has been used so much it has rusted severely and has got to point where it is unusable. They use this grill to cook for the members that attend the camp each year. Without it they are not able to cook all of their food items for the campers.

It is believed that investment of energy efficient buildings provides rapid and much cheaper results rather than increasing alternative energy supply (UN, 2009). In addition to this, upgrading energy efficient construction is one of the crucial opportunity to elevate development in economy, environmental stewardship, social and life quality, lastly human rights (UN, 2009). As United Nations (2009) mentioned, more appropriate energy efficient use diminishes the enforcement of energy use on climate change and usage of modern energy-saving technologies is the one of the effective ways to enlarge energy efficiency. Furthermore, improving the energy efficiency of buildings makes more adaptable regardless of any changes in weather condition and such buildings likely to emit less carbon dioxide emissions that polluted air tends to affect inflammatory as well as respiratory systems that can lead to worsening of heart and lung diseases such as chronic bronchitis and emphysema even the lung cancer which is recently more serious disease (DERA, 2011). Improvement in energy efficiency in construction makes energy more available which can be probably used alternatively; also, reduces the political instability risks which tend to arise because of energy price inflation for householders or energy shortages (UN, 2009). One of the crucial advantages of energy efficient construction is
