The Renaissance and Age of Exploration In 1453 Europe had to take risks to get out of the “Dark Ages” and into the Golden Age (Renaissance). In the “Dark Ages” the majority of people were living in hard and poor times. Trying to get into the Golden Age started the Age of Exploration, which was a series of voyages and expeditions the Europeans made to get into the global trade and wealth of the east coast. In document one of the DBQ it says, “With trade routes to the east in hand of the Ottomans, Europeans needed to find new trade routes.” This was one cause of the Europeans wanting to explore new lands.
I believe the impetus behind the exploration and colonization in the era of European exploration was for multiple different incentives for example, wealth, religion, and fame. Moreover, wealth and power were obtained through trading goods, valuables, gold, silver, lands, and colonies. In addition, looking for the Northwest Passage to Asia and fur trading were critical factors that defined the wealth aspect. Also, converting Native Americans to Roman Catholicism played a significant role in the expansion of colonies. Furthermore, the English came to America in search for freedom of religion.
In the 1500’s and 1600’s, Europe dived into an era of exploration of new trade routes. Exploration carried out by explorers like Cortes, Diaz and Da Gama led Europe into new lands. The main motivations of these explorers were to gather spices and gold. Their countries were infatuated with the spices of Asia and with precious metals. Religion was not the main motivation for European exploration during the 15th and 16th centuries; however, the search for wealth was.
The European Age of Exploration had a few causes. One of them being the Ottomans who controlled eastern trade routes and were looking to expand. The Europeans feared the Ottomans so they decided to find, and open new trade routes as said in document 1. The other main reason for exploration is seen in document 3, “...to see the
Therefore the explorers should be glorified for bringing back goods, Flourishing capitalism, and bringing or giving new knowledge and ideas to the natives and Indonesians. The Europeans were great explorers and founded many countries that we see in our everyday lives today, Through exploring they brought back many goods that we use in everyday life. According to doc 3 and 8, the Europeans gave the people in Indonesia and the Natives animals and other goods, in exchange for new spices,
Europeans were one of the lucky people who benefited from the Age of Exploration. They found new trade routes and made more money off slaves. The Age of Exploration was a good time period for the Europeans. The Asians also benefited from the Age of Exploration. The AsiansAsains also started to make more money from trade and slaves.
The Age of Exploration occurred from 1400 to 1700 C.E. It is famously known as the Age of Exploration because it was a time when explorers from Europe travelled by sea to explore west of them, and make many geographical advances. Exploration was motivated by gold, glory, and God. Along with their motivation, the Europeans also wanted to find trading partners, new goods, new trade routes, and simply find new land. With exploration, there were many good effects and many bad ones.
Is Major Exploration Worth the Risk? Millions of dollars are constantly being invested into major exploration, but is it worth the risk? Some may say that the major exploration isn’t worth the risk because explorers may die while exploring. Those explorers were innocent people, and exploration meant that their lives would be put at risk. On the other hand, others may dispute that major exploration benefitted the people more than it harmed them.
During the Age of Exploration, Europeans craved for spices which came from Asia, one man, five ships, and his crew of 270 men explored the Atlantic to try and find a quicker way. That said man was Ferdinand Magellan, he was the first person to circumnavigate the globe hoping to find a river or strait that cut through the Americas. After the exploration, only eighteen men remained. Magellan wasn’t worth defending because he put his crew’s lives in danger, was very cruel to the three other captains on the other ships, and lost sight of his actual mission. My first reason why I don’t believe Magellan wasn’t worth defending is how cruel he was to his crew.
This is one of the many reasons that the Age of Exploration
The moon revolves around the Earth, and objects fall because of gravity. At one point, during the 17th and 18th century, this new concept, and much more like it, was the talk of the town. This time period was called the scientific revolution, where philosophers and scientists questioned the views on the world resulting in unfamiliar discoveries and the creation of new ideas. Science has influenced culture, religion, and government during this time as it made its crucial impact for their different way of thinking. Science was an important factor when it comes to progress within their society as there were many new findings.
Our global world is full of different cultures, religions and different ideologies. The greediness of humans for power has caused conflicts which sadly lead to war. But humans are not only selfish and bad, they also are curious and good. The human curiosity has lead to the age of exploration. The age of exploration was a period from 1400 to 1600 in which Europeans traveled the rest of the world in search of goods, raw materials, land, and trade partners according to the Cambridge Dictionaries Online.
Without the ships none of the explorations would have occurred. They had a lot of cause to why to explore and without the technology that made it way easier for them, they wouldn 't have made it so far. The Age of Exploration had a lot of new technologies and ideas growing out of the Renaissance, these included advances in cartography, navigation, and shipbuilding. Around this time Christopher Columbus started exploring.
The europeans had a number of experiences that influenced them to explore. For example, europe wanted to spread christianity by going to new land and telling and finding forcing the new people to be followers of christ. Another thing, is when the europeans set off, along with finding new people to tell their religion, they would have to find new land to conquer as well. The europeans also decided to explore to make money.
Age of Exploration was a period of time from thousands of years ago, during which European ships were traveled around the world searching for trading routes and partners to help Europe. Lands were used to maintain foods and keep them from spoiling. Lands, however, were expensive and dangerous to get. Traders had to travel from a land route from Europe to Asia to get them. Europeans were desperate to get lands from Asia.
