Al Capone was born in 1899 in Brooklyn in New York. He was born Alphonse Gabriel Capone. His parents Teresa Capone and Gabriele Capone were Italian immigrants. His father were a barber and his mother worked as a sewer. How could Gabriel Capone end up as a mobster (gangster) and a murderer? Where he got his "scareface" nickname from, how he got it? And what happened on Valentine's Day in 1929?
At the school he went to as a kid, he were a great student, but after some time he came in trouble at the school. It was at the age of 14 his school career ended. After the trouble on the school, he began to work in a bowling alley and at a candy store. It was at this time he got influenced by the gangster Johnny Torrio.

He wasn't one of them who shoot, but he was probably the one who ordered them. The case never got solved, and no one was ever put in jail for it. Actually Capone never got charged for murder, because he payed the police and he always took care of witnesses. The first time he got arrested was in May in 1929, for carrying a concealed weapon (a hided weapon, that were illegal) in Philadelphia, and he carried illegal, because he had to get the gun checked and get confirmed as a legal gun. (It was different rules in the different states, for carrying a weapon). He got feed for the crime.
In 1931 Capone was indicted for income tax fraud (not pay taxes for what you earn). Capone made a deal with the judge, the deal included that he only were gone sit in jail for two and a half years, but the judge didn't agreed in the deal. Then the case went to trail (the court). Capone was found guilty of five charges, this was three felonies (crimes) and two misdemeanours (smaller crimes or bad deed). Capone got sentenced to pay a fine of 50 thousands dollars, and he also was sentenced to 11 years in jail. No one had ever got sentenced to worst punishment for tax
Al Capone also known as Scarface was a 1920’s mob boss in the city of Chicago, Illinois. He came from a family of Italian immigrants and he was raised in New York City. Capone was part of a gang in New York until he got a invitation from Tarrio in 1920 to come to Chicago and join his mafia. But in 1925 Tarrio was almost killed in a shootout with a rival gang so he steps down from mob boss and hands the mafia to Capone. Once Al became the boss he started to sell whiskey which at the time was illegal because of Prohibition.
The fake police lined the seven victims along a wall without a struggle, then killing them with machine guns and shotguns. They did not actually get Bugs Moran. Photos of the bodies shocked the public, and the photos damaged Al Capone's reputation severely. And it took only a couple of days before he was sent into court. Al Capone was first sent to prison for carrying a gun in philidelphia, in Eastern State Penitentiary in Philidelphia, where he spent about nine months.
He murdered his first victim at twenty and in order to escape charges he fled to Chicago where he quickly found one of the most notorious gangs, 5 Points Gang. He with his charm, clever speaking skills, and obedience to the leader he quickly moved up the ranks until he was Johnny Torrito’s (the gang's leader) right hand man. Johnny however had to flee the country and Al took the opportunity naming himself leader. He quickly became the number one in bootleg operations of Chicago, while wiping out any rival providers. These rival gangs however were not pleased with Capone’s success and did all they could in attempts to wipe him out, among the attempts were poisoning and machine gun ambushes, none of which seemed to work.
Later Torrio left the gang and now Capone was in charge, he was more organized than Torrio in the gang. After, he got involved with the St. Valentine's day massacre killing the Moran’s gang members to destroy the Moran’s gang. Later was in jail from a tax evasion from hundred million dollars was a evaded. After shooting the seven men, the four shooters got into their stolen squad car and their fifth man drove off with them into traffic.

American Decades writes, “During the roaring twenties Capone controlled a multi-million dollar crime organization in Chicago. He gained national recognition for his ruthless business skills and casual use of violence to build his criminal empire.” (“Al Capone” American Decades, 1) Due to his finely tuned skills for running crime, most likely inherited from his mentor Torrio, Capone was able to rise to unbelievable fame.
Al capone did not only do violent crimes but he helped the people around him by setting up a soup kittchen during depression and a city wide program to give free milk to schools kids. In 1939 he was found guilty of tax evasion and was jailed for eight years. while in jail prohibiton ended and grew ill from syphilis. Al capone was released in 1939 and moved to florida. On january 25, 1947 Al capone died.

There were many different gangsters, but the most popular were Al Capone, Bonnie and Clyde, and Lester Nelson.
With the lack of evidence left behind at the crime scene and the lack of technology in the 20s left the case unsolved. The Chicago Police Department was unable to pin the crime on their top suspect Al Capone. Even though Al Capone had a possible motive to kill the seven men there wasn’t enough evidence. Not only was they’re not enough evidence, Al Capone had a solid alibi stating that he was in Florida at the time the murder took place. The bullets were just not enough to pin Al Capones henchman or himself for the murder.
Capone was smart about how he appeared in the public and in media he always wore suits and pulled it off by acting like a respectable businessman. Capone had a secret bootlegging trail from Chicago to New York. This trail made Capone more money than he ever dreamed of. But during a one of the bootlegging runs McSwiggen got shot and killed by one of Capone’s henchmen. Nobody got convicted due to lack of evidence.
The public was very interested when he went to prison and his time there was very public, especially in the newspapers. Al Capone was known for finding ways to get what he wanted in prisons. This included convincing guards to help him. Al Capone started committing crimes at a young age and by the time he was twenty, he was making around one hundred thousand dollars per week. He also owned a nightclub called The Four Deuces.

He did what he thought was right for his church, for himself and made a ton of money while he was doing what he wanted.
