Minimum wage has not been increased any more than it is because many people are concerned as to what an increase in minimum wage will do to our economy. If the minimum wage was set at a higher dollar amount it could increase wages for millions. One concern with increasing the minimum wage is that people believe that if the minimum wage is increased others will lose their job in order for employers to pay the new minimum wage. People believe their jobs will soon be replaced with robots.
Is it only those that are wealthy enough or is it need based? Obviously, robots will cost a large chunk of money, with all the technology behind them. The military already use robots, they are currently used for health care and home cleaning. What will they be used for in the future? I believe they could act as anything a person aspires them to be.
One of these is the advancement of technology in America. A couple hundred years ago companies had to rely on human workers in order to get their products made. But as technology got more advanced as time went on and around the early 1900s is when machines got to the point where the machines were able to do simple tasks that they would originally have to pay people to do. So the companies started to replace jobs with the machines, which lowered the amount of jobs significantly. This still continues today and is even worse than before, the most recent example being the electronic cashiers at McDonald 's recently been added, which will cut a significant amount of jobs for people.
If college were to be free the immediate problems would be the collapse of the entire college business industry and the fact all of the sudden taxes rise by a lot, but eventually as more and more people start to graduate from college and get jobs the economy would build and as many studies show that more educated people tend to make better decisions in life which will make us grow as a nation. A very successful nation in today 's society Germany has free college, it is also one of the key parts of the Bernie Sanders run. A free college would also lead to everyone having a chance to build a successful future for themselves other than those who can afford 20000$. Also currently what this college system fails to recognize that not every is degree is not capable of making back that tuition fee, so in short its only worth it to get a music, philosophy or arts degree if you have rich parents. If you don 't but like any of those topics, then it sucks to be you. And moreover, there are so much better stuff you could do with 20000$ like You could buy a Mini Cooper or You can invest it for 30 years and turn it into $265,353 at a 9% rate of return or You could buy 40,000 donuts which is enough to last you 109 years (without inflation and the cost of your heart surgery) so many people tend not to go to college.
“From 2000-2010, exports of American goods jumped 66%; the export of services increased even more – 84% (Kinicki & Williams, 2012)”. Due to the rules and regulations for the companies that are settled in the United States, it is sometimes harder for the company to be successful. The United States has more safety regulations than other countries, like Mexico. The materials for companies in the United States are more expensive too. These are some of the reasons; companies have been closing their factories and businesses in the United States and moving elsewhere.
This is clearly evident in the three areas (educational, wealth and assets the labor market discussed above. Americans believe that if they work hard they will be able to attain upward mobility, but as the economic gap widen this belief is fading more and more. This gap will definitely have an impact on our nation if it continues to widen. Which could result into a permanent recession. The American constitution states “equality for all” yet
Kennedy says in his news conference," If this rise in the cost of steel is imitated by the rest of the industry, instead of rescinded, it would increase the cost of homes, autos, appliances, and most other items for every American family. It would increase the cost of machinery and tools to every American businessman and farmer. It would seriously handicap our efforts to prevent an inflationary spiral from eating up the pensions of our older citizens, and our new gains in purchasing power"(line 23-31) This shows that when the decline of the companies it will seriously handicap the American people due to the large increase in prices. This is also shown in, "And it would surely handicap our efforts to induce other industries and unions adopt responsible price and wage policies"(line 43-45)
One argument against immigration claims that, if everybody is highly educated then nobody is highly educated (Levitt 115). Something that comes up once in a while is the idea that the investment into your education could just lead to you getting a minimum wage job at McDonalds. This is due to the fact that the amount of populace that has attended higher education is too high in comparison to the amount of people who haven’t and are willing to work lower jobs.
In “Better than Human”, Kelly mentions that it will be a trend for robots to replace humans on most, or even every working position in the near future as a outcome of the development of automaton-related technology. “We need to let robots take over”, Kelly assures, “they will do jobs we have been doing, and do them much better than we can (Kelly 311)”. With his observation of the invention of Baxter, he is persuaded in a great extent that humans will acquire new jobs as their old jobs get replaced by automatons. This newly invented robot surprisingly contains several epochal features, disregarding its extremely low price compared to its predecessors. With its benefits, Baxter can be promoted easily and applied to many industries, decreasing the costs of production and even re-generating the market eventually.
The costs to import crops would increase the amount of businesses leaving America for cheap labor elsewhere. In response, Donald Trump planned to draw businesses and mass production companies to the US in order to increase manufacturing jobs. By persuading companies to resettle in the US, businesses would be harming themselves. With the large amount of unskilled Americans, many employees
March 21st, 2006 is a day that will go down in history. It was the day users could reach each other through viral threads and ideas. The day celebrities could reach the world with a press of a button. President Trump created a twitter account March of 2009. President Trump’s twitter history was very bare up until September of 2011 when he first announced the idea for running for president and started to become involved in the political atmosphere.
The analysis I made was based on Douglas McGray’s article “Lost in America”. You did a great job starting your introduction in a creative way using a question as attention-grabber. It is an effective strategy to grab the reader’s attention. You briefly summarized the article’s main points; it provides readers a brief explanation of what will be further analyzed. You also established a very solid thesis statement with a purpose, audience and rhetorical device being analyzed.
