Putting America first does not mean ignoring the needs of other nations. In fact, it dictates the opposite, as financially supporting outside countries creates harmony and a sense of compassion. Some believe it is detrimental for America to lend money to others since it detracts from the federal budget, however, it is decisively crucial to the nation’s position in the world. While some claim the U.S. should be the government’s only priority, providing foreign aid to other countries is ultimately essential because it helps to eradicate crises in other nations, assists in maintaining good diplomatic relationships, and exhibits the duty as a developed country to cultivate independence.
“What is so special about Pennsylvania? Who would be willing to go get settle there?” In the seventeenth century German colonists started moving to Pennsylvania. In 1700 there was an agent by the name of Francis Pastorius, he wrote a description of Pennsylvania as he lived there. Nearly fifth years later in 1754 Gottlieb Mittelberger wrote about his time in Pennsylvania in his book titled “Journey to Pennsylvania.”
As each year passes in America, life continuously changes through the advancement of technology. However, a more important change in America is seen through the attitudes and actions of the people. In today's society, people place more concern toward their own needs; furthermore, people are becoming increasingly violent with others. In addition, not only are people hurting each other but also themselves through extensive drug usage.
Both A Quilt of a Country: Out of Many One? and All in the Telephone Book, talk about freedom in America and how it works. Anna Quindlen described America as a quilt. A quilt is made up of many different fabrics that all have different characteristics. “It was built of bits and pieces that seem discordant, like the crazy quilts that have been one of its great folk-art forms,” The author is saying that that America is like a quilt because it is made up many different kinds of people that all have different characteristics.
The National Anthem states, “The land of the free and the home of the brave.” The United States struggles with balancing freedom and public health. It is a debate everyone struggles with agreeing on. Driving cars, smoking, and many other factors set right in the middle of deciding between the public’s health and freedom. In society today, we strive to satisfy everyone, but that is a hard thing to do with pupils many different opinions.
A philosopher once said, “ True wisdom comes to each of us when we realize how little we understand about life, ourselves, and the world around us.” With that in mind, when asked about how I see America’s future, I can only say that it's unpredictable. We as people don’t have that true wisdom that its requires to predict, or see the future. So many changes have happened in the few years I’ve been alive, which give me enough reason to say America’s future is so unpredictable.
There are far too many parallels between ancient Rome and modern America. It seems as if many people do not care enough about the path our country is headed down. Ethics and values have gone out the window, the government has doomed the working class, people have become violent, people are acting without fully thinking and war is constant. America needs a change before it is too late. Ethics and values have merely disappeared but when they are present they seem to be hypocritical.
America is the place that seems to give opportunities and equal changes to all. They have more freedom than others (but not total freedom). America is a united people working together. When you ask a non American “What does America mean to you?” , they will more often than not answer with hamburgers, obesity, NFL and Reality TV. That is okay because who doesn 't love hamburgers and football filled Sundays, who doesn 't love watching silly reality TV shows and who doesn 't love a cheat day every once in awhile? Those people are judging a book by its cover and fortunately for me… well my thoughts about America are quite different. When an individual asks me “What does America mean to you?”
Living in America means; I have opportunity, freedom, and respect, which are my rights. Living in America. I can read. Write. Growing up in America, I’ve been blessed to have all the things I have, all the opportunities given.
Over the years we have taken many things from the Ancient cultures but no-one really focuses on what so today we are. In the first paragraph we will go over the art in both cultures. In the second we will go over the Law and Politics of each culture. In the third paragraph we will go over the architecture of them both. The art of Ancient Greece and Rome were both very unique.
