Conflict theory can best be defined as viewing self interest as a basic human motivation. This human motivation comes from the will to survive and a strong desire to fulfill one’s needs and desires in life. It is said that conflict typically arises between individuals, groups or family members out of competing interests. Conflict theory doesn’t see conflict as being problematic, instead conflict theory suggests that conflict is necessary and often desirable to produce change (Chibucos, Leite & Weis, 2005). When it comes to the family unit, conflict theory argues that power among family members is unequally distributed with the male figure typically having the most power within the family.
Families have different patterns of communication and it can be brought to a romantic relationship or learn from it. All in all couples that experience conflict with family in younger years usually have a constructive style of conflict management and communication. Fowler, M., Pearson, J. C.,
To resolve this conflict of interest, I would like to use Thomas White’s Framework. Thomas White’s framework for ethical decision making should be more useful to deal with situations in dilemma. White’s framework states: • Analyze the consequences and collecting necessary information. • Analyze the actions. • Making the final decisions.
As humans, we each face conflict in our everyday lives. Conflict is basically anything that happens that a person may disagree with, or not be happy with. Conflict could be something as little as losing your pencil, or something as horrible as the holocaust. For example, Anne Frank was forced into hiding at the age of 13. There was nothing that she could do about it, so she kept her thoughts on the positive side by writing in her diary once or twice a month, and hoping for the best.

This is seen in the movie when the children come together at the top of the lighthouse to find ways to work together and break up their parents and to go back to their previous lives. The children were together in their safe environment and even agreeing to work together for their own happiness. Eventually the children became attached to each other due to working together. At the end, after they caused a big fight between their parents and they wanted to slit up, the children worked together to keep them together.

A conflict of interest can be described as one’s personal interest getting in the way of the company’s interests. Types of conflicts of interest can vary. However, in this section staff are instructed to refrain from engaging in company business with relatives.
In a perfect world, there would be no fights, arguments or disagreements that result in destruction and pain. It is impossible to work towards resolving an issue with their mate if it is never brought to their mate’s attention. Not saying that this will automatically benefit or resolve the issue, but it will let you know whether it can be resolved. Conflict allows growth (Bethel University, 2012). The learner has found that with maturity she is able to handle a lot of things that the younger version of her would not have tolerated or dealt with at all. Conflict allows us to continually test and discover the kind of person we are and what we can deal with.
