Consequently teens can feel so depressed that they consider ending their own lives. According to (Fauveau and Blanchet, 1989), "Suicide is one of the leading consequences of depression in teenage pregnancy". Teens who commit suicide because they become pregnant see their actions as some sort of solution to a severe psychological dilemma. Teens that become pregnant often feel disastrous and start to question what the future will be seeing that this is unplanned and it means they are unprepared. Therefore damaging one’s value or worth means damaging the person themselves. Evidently postpartum depression which allows a mother to feel worthless can become permanent if not treated quickly. Teenagers that are pregnant are forced to drop out of school thus not completing their secondary education to obtain qualifications to further their studies consequently no qualifications to apply for a job to sustain and provide for their child. This can damage a teen’s self-esteem as they will now feel like their life has turned out to be a waste. As a result this can force a teen mom to find other ways to provide seeing that she is without qualifications. According to Musnat Anita Sanni (2016), "Prostitution is an effect of adolescent/teenage pregnancy. Many teenage mothers end up in prostitution to make ends meet. Since they lack skill and education, they sell their bodies to make money to feed themselves. Child prostitution is common in most parts of the cities and towns in Ghana". Prostitution can be encouraged with the teen thinking that she is worthless. (Martin-Wilkson, 2013) stated that “Jamaica is ranked fourth in the Caribbean region with the highest rate of adolescent pregnancy”. Even though there are things that happened that are not supported or appreciated in society, discriminating and ridiculing the persons involved will not fix or undo the situation. Teenage pregnancy, which falls under those situations, has a lot of effects and impacts on the individuals involved. Teenage pregnancy can pose several financial, physical and academic challenges to an expectant mother, but an issue that is usually overlooked by family and physicians is the psychological challenge of pregnancy on teenagers. Finally according to Segen's Medical Dictionary (2012), "Teenage/Adolescent pregnancy occurs in a girl who is yet completed her core education (secondary school), has a few or no marketable skills, mentally immature and who is still is financially dependent on parent(s)", consequently causing depression, self-esteem issues and regrettably
