In this brief analysis, the authors examine the role of childhood sexual and physical violence, and current interpersonal violence. The authors found that women who has used inconsistent contraception stated considerably higher level of prior childhood sexual abuse compared to the women who used consistent contraceptive. Women who were forced to have sex without a condom by their significant other stated that they used inconsistent contraception in a past year compared to the women who reported consistent contraception. The authors suggest that to improve these situations health care providers need to routinely screen for childhood sexual abuse when discussing contraception options. When none of these characteristics are present, it cannot be considered child abuse. A typical spanking should not cause any of those types of injuries. In fact, spanking is considered acceptable in our society and sometimes very necessary to discipline a child. A spanking is an open-handed hit on the behind, which should never cause severe bruising, bleeding, or scars.

Madison Rummel I feel that if it is our job to report it, we have to report. Kids or adolescents have to understand that if you go to someone about child abuse they have to tell someone about it. But I would make sure that child knows that i would be on there side and make sure nothing would happen to them and they can trust me on helping them on this issue. That's also can keep away the negative feeling the parent or client might have on the issue. I would make sure the parents know that i am their child's counselor and i wouldn't do anything to them that would harm them but protect them.
