The object of this paper is to look into the rise of Dwight D. Eisenhower through the military ranks and to analyze what made him successful to the point that he became America’s most sought after President. Dwight D. Eisenhower was born on October 14, 1890, in Denison, Texas. His parents, David Jacob Eisenhower and Ida Stover Eisenhower. Dwight was the third of his parents seven sons; he had two older brothers, Arthur and Edgar, and three younger ones, Roy, Earl, and Milton. They all lived in a tiny house in Denison, Texas while his dad was cleaning train engines. Dwight was just a year and half old when his family moved backed to Abilene, Kansas, for his farther David could take a better job. Eisenhower grew up in a small town in Kansas, he ended the war in Korea, was elected as the 34th US President serving two terms, then worked around the clock to ease the Cold War. Eisenhower and The Korean War Eisenhower was a man of many quotes and my favorite quote of his is "We are going to have peace even if we have to fight for it. " Eisenhower was President during the Korean war which lasted from 1950-1953, he then said during his campaign "I shall go to Korea" which is pretty brave if you ask me. In January of 1953 president Eisenhower gave his first inaugural address to the citizens of the United States. Two foreign and two domestic policies will be analyzed in this paper.
