For this presentation, our topic was researched on U.S. healthcare systems. Since this was a very broad topic, we decided to break it down into three major components of the system in general. Therefore, we wanted to aim to explain the three major components of: before you go to seek medical attention, the management of these facilities once you get there, and the billing and treatment you receive once you have been helped. Within this paper, we will explain each step that the U.S. government has taken in regards of these components. What happens when you are not quite eligible for these federal based insurance, does that mean you do not have any insurance. The response to that is not quite, there is one last option that has been created by The President known as ObamaCare. ObamaCare is known as The Affordable Care Act (ACA). This act requires everyone to have major medical health insurance policy or pay a tax penalty for being uninsured. The main focus of this insurance is “providing more Americans with access to affordable health insurance, improving the quality of health care and health insurance, regulating the health insurance industry, and reducing health care spending in the US” (3). To fund ObamaCare, it is done through a mix of taxes and cost controlling measures which curb the growth pre-aca health care spending. It is funded by Federal and State tax dollars. As for whether or not the individual must pay, the answer is yes. In order to have ObamaCare, 6 out of 10 Americans can get covered for$100 or less on the Health Insurance Marketplace, with the average plan costing just $82 after Premium Tax Credits in 2014.
