What is sexual identity? Sexual identity refers to how one thinks of oneself and what one is romantically or sexually attracted to. It is a primarily component of how one reflects their sexual self-concept. Besides, sexual identity could be changed throughout a lifetime due to sexual orientation but it may be not align with each other (Rosario, Schrimshaw, Hunter, & Braun, 2006) as WebMD indicates that bisexual may not express their true feelings and decide to have relationship with one gender. Still, most people define their sexual identity based on their sexual orientation (Grollman, 2010).
Today, sexual identity is a major concern in the world. It becomes complex when its integral consists of individual’s sex orientation (“Sexual identity,” n.d.). Sexual orientation is a term used to refer to people who physically or emotionally attracted to the same sex or opposite gender. Example of sexual orientation are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, and straight which could be classified as homosexuality and heterosexuality.

The primarily idea of the debate is that biological theorists say children who lived in the same setting would develop different of personality while social theorists argue that identical twins who were raised separately in the different places would develop a different outcomes (Heffner, 2003).
