Exercising believe it or not can prevent many chronic diseases. For those who don’t exercise at all, I suggest that they start at least twice a week between 30 mins to an hour. Reason being to achieve a goal, it must be realistic, manageable for one’s self efficacy. Reading Response Assignment In the article “To Avoid ‘Boomeritis,’ Exercise, Exercise, Exercise” from the New York Times, Jane E Brody describes the need of exercise as a person ages. She believes exercise can slow the effects of growing old as well as describing how and why some exercises help us as we age. The author relates different aspects of fitness to how our bodies change throughout life. She lists most of the aspects of fitness including: flexibility, strength, and endurance, and explains how those aspects positively affect you if you keep up with it over time.

A person should have an average of 60 minutes of physical activity a day in order to lead a healthy and fit life. We should all strive to work towards getting off the couch and reducing screen-time to lead less sedentary lives. This, in fact, encourages weight loss. The Ministries of Education in both Canada and U.S.A should revise the health curriculum to emphasise more on healthy eating and healthy body image to empower youth about the importance of having a healthy lifestyle. To reverse the obesity epidemic, community efforts should focus on supporting healthy eating and active living in a variety of settings.

Among my biggest hobby is Crossfit and fitness in general. This interview couldn’t have come at a better time, because this is the peak season for crossfit participants. It’s the Crossfit Open. Crossfit head quarters post a workout every Thursday. Participates post their score the following Monday, the entirety of the event lasts 5 weeks.
