Today feminism is more relevant than ever: loud events of a global scale and national level reveal black holes in matters of gender. Unfortunately, at present, many people, speaking of feminism, represent a beautiful girl chanting another slogan. However, feminism, as a scientific paradigm, has a solid theoretical foundation that has undergone a single change during its existence.

Feminism can be divided into 3 waves: women’s fight for equal contract and property rights, broadening the debate, the “micropolitics” of gender equality. In the first wave of feminism women were not allowed to vote, sign legal documents, own property, divorce their husband, attend university. One of the disputes that comes out in the latest time very often is the need of feminism. The majority of society believes that feminism is not needed anymore because women already got all the rights. However, this judgment is just an ignorance of the problems in our community.
People tend to say that there is no sexism nowadays, so feminism has nothing to battle with. However, the sad truth is that sexism became a part of our culture, therefore we do not even notice it. There are settle models of an ideal man and ideal woman in our society. Masculinity is perceived as a good feature, while feminity features are perceived as weak being. For example, the roles assigned to both genders. Man works to bring money and food in family, while woman take care of home and kids, her work is being beautiful and do not disturb man; man is a boss, woman is a secretary. If people do not fit the standards, society blame and bully them. Feminism battle with this injustice and oppression, based on sexism, it tries to reach the respect to all people, no matter which group of society they belong
