We need firefighters just as much as we need the military to protect our country. They also need money to maintain their apparatus. The main way fire companies get their money is through donations and fundraisers. They often put a lot of work into it and they don't get much money out of it. Because of this I propose that we make a tax. The tax money collected will go to federal fire departments. The amount of money will be decided on the amount of apparatus and the type of apparatus. If I were president, I would help firefighters and fire departments make more money. With the new money they will be able to also maintain their gear with this new gear because they can always use new gear. They can also get better training grounds. The training …show more content…

Also the types of pieces you have will determine how much you get. Then the amount of firefighters you have will then add on to how much you get. When you get the money then you will be able to get everything new that you need. Plus this money can be used to have a pay raise for the firefighter to make more money so he and his family can enjoy those precious moments together. The fire department they belong to will receive four thousand dollars for each firefighter. That money will be used to spend on the firefighters. The department will also receive twenty thousand dollars for each piece apparatus regardless of the type of piece. That money will not be included in with the type of peice. With all this money they will not have to do as many fundraisers that do not raise very much money. Instead of getting money through fundraisers, it will be in the form of a property tax. It will be one percent of every property value. The tax can increase if needed and it will increase by fifty percent. It will also account for any building that is on said property. Firefighters properties will be excluded from the tax as they already work hard enough fighting
