CHAPTER 5 ESTIMATION OF NATURAL FREQUENCIES OF BRIDGE 5.1 GENERAL This chapter present a discussion of the findings obtained from the methodology that were presented in the chapter 3. Firstly the result for the ambient vibration test using Fourier spectrum analysis are outlined. This is followed by the presentation of the result of the analytical methods. The result from the two analysis techniques are discussed. 5.2 ESTIMATION OF NATURAL FREQUENCIES: EXPERIMENTAL METHOD Ambient vibration test is performed on the highway bridges and Fourier amplitude spectrums draw for the time histories of vibration for all five bridges. Frequencies for different mode are selected from the frequency-amplitude spectrum. The spectrum indicates the locus of the frequencies of the same type. The Fourier spectrum produced three resonant frequencies with at least three times repeatability in the …show more content…

It difference is varies from for 20% to 47% for bridge (S.No. 1,2,3,5) but bridge 4 estimated natural frequencies is more than the AVT it is due to the over estimation of stiffness of the structure. In IS code there is no provision for the estimation of natural frequencies of pre-stressed structures, so the estimation is done without considering the effect of the pre-stressing. You have made it a point to go through the timesheet and DAR book every day to look for errors. Yes, I placed the sticky note and made the pen and ink changes to the projected timesheet that is not submitted to payroll until Friday. That way you will have enough time to see it ask questions or make the necessary changes to the document. We all know that there is going to be a last-minute change to schedule do to the bad last-minute planning of the scheduling. Since there is no one currently filling the 3 to 11 time slot.
Chevy Cobalt Clicking Noise I hope I got to you before you tried to fix the Chevy Cobalt clicking noise coming from behind the glove box. First, let's tell you exactly what the problem is. The clicking sound becomes an indication of a stripped gear inside of the air door actuator motor.
Introduction: Isopods are crustacean, which is split into smaller groups, called order. Scientifically Isopoda order is called isopods, which include pill bugs and sow bugs (Crustacean class). Most of the time isopods are mistaken for “bugs” since they look like insects.
TONE The tone of the Dust Witch is horrific and sympathetic. The tone of the Dust Witch is being conveyed as being horrific through the diction “poisonous”(Bradbury148), “soul”(150), and “blood”(149) when the boys are thinking of what the Dust Witch will do to him when it finds them. The tone is also seen as being sympathetic through the diction “fire”, “stopped”, and “doubts”(251) when Mr. Dark places the Dust Witch at the end of the rifle. When Mr. Dark does this he feels sympathetic and sorry for what he has done to others that have messed around at the carnival.
Michaela P. Capulong NU 333-01: Physical Assessment for the Nursing Professional June 29, 2015 Journal 7 When I do my assessment on admission, I always include the assessment findings that I expect to be abnormal if the patient has definite cardiovascular problem. I notify the MD and the nurse practitioner immediately if I find abnormal findings or values. I ensure to chart the education and the correction in response of the abnormal findings. In addition to that, tests and labs should be done to rule out problems. It is essential to know the patient’s health history before conducting the physical exam.
Disturbance On 09/25/2015 at approximately 1837 hrs, I was dispatched to 712 W. 3rd St for report of a disturbance taking place. Upon arrival I observed a white Dodge truck waiting for me in front of the residence. I made contact and identified the driver as Jimmy Bustos Jr. (TX-DL # 18946692), Bustos stated, “Can I wait for you at the police department my wife is yelling, and screaming and I’m unable to talk to you while she’s acting like that”. Bustos went to the police department and waited on me.
In Quiet Strength by Tony Dungy and Nathan Whitaker, we learn how important respect is to him, in football and life. Tony treats everyone he interacts with respect. When he was a player he respected his coach’s decisions, even if he was upset and did not agree with the decision. We saw that when he got traded from the Steelers to the 49ers. He didn’t like it, but he still respected the coach’s decisions and did not take any anger out on them.
Problem Identification Getting out of bed is one of the dangerous things that the elderly patients do when they are admitted in the hospital. Study conducted by Ambrose, Paul & Hausdorff, (2013) on patient falls reveals that a majority of falls in the elderly patients occur between 0700 and 1900, especially when they are getting out of bed to use the rest room. The cause of their falls is mainly due to unsteady gait, memory loss, confusion that comes with age. Memory loss and vision problems which occurs during old age in the elderly patients puts them at risk for falls. Other factors that can lead to falls are; Presence of throw rugs, psychotropic medications, lack of Vitamin D, and weakness of the lower extremities.
I will use these seven elements to analyze the benefits and harms of the decision to use a thinner gusset plate to support the steel beams of the I-35W Bridge. Each component will be scored on a scale from -10 to 10. The negative values will represent pain values and positive numbers will represent pleasure values. After both sides of the case are analyzed, the values will be added together and compared in magnitude in order to determine whether the decision that the company took provided more pleasure than pain. I will look at the benefits of the decision first.
The testing of the linear WEC was split into three main sections the first being electrical/electronic systems, the second being mechanical systems and finally complete system tests. 5.2 Electrical and Electronic Tests and Results 5.2.1 Preliminary Test Conditions Schematic Check
In return this can pose a significant challenge to transportation officials, legislators, and engineers to provide safe roadways to citizens regarding an aging infrastructure (Infrastructure Report Card, 2013). Bridges and culverts are a crucial component of the highway system as they cross roadways, streams, and major waterways to keep the motorists and commerce moving (Infrastructure Report Card, 2014). The North Carolina Department of Transportation’s main task is to maintain the majority of these highways. Currently there are 13,558 state maintained bridges, including 5,462 bridges that are structurally deficient and/or functionally obsolete (Infrastructure Report Card, 2014). While NCDOT currently funds a $200 million bridge improvement program, a significant investment in bridge repair and replacements will be required as bridges and major highways reach the end of their service life (Infrastructure Report Card, 2013).
Introduction The intent of this experiment is to practice the scientific method, by constructing a bridge to bolster as many pennies as possible before it sags 1 1/8”, touching the desk. I hope to get a better perception of the scientific method by doing an experiment. I also hope to gain knowledge about the way bridges are structured to hold more weight. Based on my research, I know that the thicker the bridge is, the more weight it will bolster.
Introduction: The objective for the lab was to determine properties of materials by using a tension test. The properties that were determined was Young’s Modulus, ultimate tensile strength, and yield strength. Three aluminum alloys were tested. The first was the AA 2024 , which is high strength used in aerospace applications.
ABSTRACT Being in our early stage of civil engineering, the topic CONSTRUCTION OF BRIDGES is of great use and importance in our life. It is therefore necessary to understand meaning of bridges ,their basics of construction and their importance. Some important points to be looked upon are – 1. Monitoring of bridges 2. Failures 3.
An introduction to highway building: Although there are many methods to constructing a road, all are based on the principle that geographical objects are removed and replaced with harder and more wear-resistant materials. The pre-existing rock and earth is removed by digging or explosions. Tunnels, embankments and bridge are then added when necessary. The material that the road is being constructed from is then laid by various pieces of equipment, which will be looked at in greater detail in this assignment. The construction management of roads has become increasingly more difficult as larger structures are constantly being required in increasingly short amounts of time.
