Growing up, my parents pushed me to do my best in school; I didn’t question it much, although looking back, I recognize that schooling is a vital component to be successful in life. I will be attending UNR this fall, the first in my family to do so. Being a first generation college student, my parents cannot provide any information regarding college classes, scholarships, or tutoring. I’ve worked diligently throughout high school but I cannot venture into college blind; TRiO would be a highly beneficial program enabling me to reach my potential in college.
Students will learn and comprehend the importance of college, which will motivate them to graduate high school and start their journey after. Knowing about all these things are important benefits that students will learn from attending and participating in these types of
When I first started this course, I didn’t really know what to expect. I knew it would educate me on the matters of choosing a career and post-secondary life but I never realized how in-depth it would be. In the end, I learned so much from this course, I now have a post-secondary plan in mind, and I know which path I need to take to get there. When I look back on all I achieved in the two short weeks of this course, I am extremely proud of all I achieved.

Initially, my entire high school career, I have worked exceedingly with every activity that I have done. In this case, maintaining a 3.6 GPA and ranking 14 out of 122 of my classmates has shown my commitment to my education. While attending school every day, I cultivate my academic skills to overachieve expectations. To
Just as with many of my previous academic moments it continued the drive I had already had. While my education continued to teach me valuable lessons and give me hands on experience I began to gain a stronger sense rooted in development and the protection of others by hopefully continuing my education at Loyola University Chicago in the Masters of Social Work/Masters of Arts in Social Justice Program which would give me the opportunity to not only eventually become a social worker with the Department of Social Services (DSS), with a school, or a guardian ad litem but to do that work effectively with the chance that would be afforded to me of an academic background steeped in social work as well as social justice teachings. This program in particular continues the undergraduate work and furthers my education on my path to my
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be an Occupational Therapist. I always want to do things to help others in any way I can. Personally I have witnessed what this occupation can do to change the lives of others. To reach my goal, I realize I must pursue a six year college education which will begin with the fall 2017 semester. I am very excited about my future and I feel as if your scholarship will help me reach my goal.
My educational experiences have taught me to challenge myself and become a part of different organizations related to serving the community, which will prepare me to be a successful member for the East Carolina University
This scholarship will be the backbone of my college education as I will start off with the
Recently, I began a mission to find a great college to attend. After careful consideration and several reasons, I chose to start my process at Suny Empire State College. I majored in psychology fifteen years ago while attending Long Island University Brooklyn Campus but unfortunately, I did not complete. Instead, I chose to begin a beautiful family. Needless to say, I am not the typical age of a college student.
At the very outset of my undergraduate program, I formulated a plan for my academic development, outlining the objectives that I must achieve at different stages of the program. With due efforts, I have attained almost all of them. My
