As graduation approaches, I continue to look forward in starting my journey in nursing. By graduating high school with my Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), this allows me to have a jumpstart on my career. My personal goal is simply to be successful, and I don't mean money but to be happy with myself and what I have been able to accomplish. By 16 birthday I had already finished high school, at 18 obtained an associated in fashion design. I love art and want to diversify part of my interest. It was not only about independence or money but fulfillment. I decide to complete my education becoming a doctor in dentistry, on this field I can help people and use my art skills, because believed or not art is applied in dentistry and almost every field. In 2014, I enrolled at the State University at Albany to continue my education towards a career in medicine. My decision to become a physician is a combination of several driving forces. I realize that becoming a physician requires extreme degree of dedication and mental discipline; for me, these are also the attractive aspects of the career in medicine. One of the greatest accomplishments one can hope to achieve is to have a career that improves human pain and suffering, while encouraging sharing of ideas to improve delivery of care and patient outcomes. I feel that my empathetic nature, intrinsic motivation and energy have made me well prepared for a career in medicine.

Holding a diploma in my hands and going to college has been one of my dearest dreams; I have always believed in reaching my maximum potential and dreamed numerous times of being able to go to medical school, study, help and lead my community through the medical field. After extensive research on ETSU’s honors program, I decided that becoming a Buccaneer Scholar is for me. I chose to apply, because the honors program will bring me closer to my dream of becoming a general surgeon by preparing me for the intensity of medical school.
