Jefferson had a better policy regarding the role of government because he favored the state’s rights, more than Hamilton did. First, Thomas Jefferson supported states’ rights. He argued that the Constitution expressly enumerates all the powers belonging to the federal government
The differences between Hamilton and Jefferson visions of America is that Hamilton envisioned a diverse economy based on manufacturing, unification, urbanization and banking. However, Jefferson envisioned an agricultural economy based on farming and individuality of American people. Hamilton believed that there should be a strong federal government. He also believed a stronger federal government would so important in regulation the economic direction of the country. Jefferson on the other hand believed that the states and individuals should be stronger in the development of the economy.
Thomas Jefferson imagined an America where everyone owned land and grew their own crops. Alexander Hamilton wanted an America where it was all business and everyone made lots of money for the government. These are the reason why. Thomas Jefferson wanted an agriculture country for these reasons. He wanted everyone to own land and grow their own crops.
Hamilton’s experience serving in Congress shaped his political views. Under the Articles of Confederation, Congress did not have the power to tax citizens. Individual states could decide whether or not they were going to give money to the federal government. It was impossible to effectively govern the country
Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson were two of the political philosophers in the United States during the 1800s. They were always going head to head on topics from who should govern the people,how the government should be structured, economics, and foreign policy. Jefferson, who was a Democratic-Republican supported the common people’s rights. He also wanted to limit the powers of the federal government. Hamilton on the other hand was of the Federalist party who was against the common people having any say so in how things were ran.
After the American Revolution, the formation of a new government was precedent. Federalists were afraid of disorder, anarchy, and chaos; the unchecked power of the masses, and sought for the constitution to create a government distant from popular passions. On the other hand, antifederalists were more concerned about the dangers of concentrated power. Equally, the antifederalists opposed the constitution because of the obstacles between the people and the exercised power, which is why federalists supported it. Hamilton was the Leader of the federalist party while Jefferson was the leader of the Republican party.
In his Farewell Address, George Washington warned everyone of the dangers of political parties. However, the Federalists and Republicans had very different views. Alexander Hamilton and his fellow Federalists believed in a strong national government and that the best people should govern. On the other hand, Thomas Jefferson and Republicans believed that the national governmentś power should be limited and that power lies with the common men. These two men were completely different, and their completely different views sparked the political party rivalry.
Jefferson's democratic-republican party views are always contradictory to the Federalist party founded by Alexander Hamilton. Jefferson believes in small federal government and more powers to individual states, his policies are around people and they should rule the government. Jefferson always follows strict constitutional rules. Jefferson always believed the country economy will improve through the agriculture. Hamilton views are very contrasted to Jefferson's view.
The first president of the United States, George Washington, was a great man. He led the country to a successful start and most importantly, kept the country out of troubles in it’s very early and vulnerable years. However, the people of America did not listen to these intently enough, one of his greatest warnings, against political parties, was soon disregarded. Both the Democrats and the Republicans like to think of themselves as the true heirs of Thomas Jefferson. The modern Democrats are historically descended from the Democratic-Republican Party that Jefferson himself organized to thwart the ambitions of Alexander Hamilton (although, ironically, they were known as "Republicans" in Jefferson 's time). Democrats around the country annually celebrate Jefferson-Jackson Dinners, avowedly declaring a connection between Jefferson and the modern Democratic Party. But Republicans claim that their platform of small government and low taxes is more in line with true Jeffersonian philosophy than that of the big-government Democrats.
The Republican Party conflict all started out after the War of 1812 was over. The leaders of the republican party are both James Madison and Thomas Jefferson. Their main role was to support the boundaries on the power of the national government and a powerful clarification of the U.S constitution. They also held the destiny of the dominion changed into depending on maintaining an agrarian society. Thomas Jefferson and James Madison also sustained France.
Each one had their own view of how to do this, but it was a main goal of both politicians. Alexander Hamilton was a founding father and leader of the Federalist party. Hamilton wanted America to be just like Great Britain. He believed that in the best interest for the country, the government should be run by elite people with lots of money. Hamilton was The United States Secretary of Treasury, during this time, and proposed many of his reform ideas to Congress.
Thomas Jefferson during the 1790’s-1800’s while working with federalists Alexander Hamilton, his viewpoints were different. During the 1790’s Jefferson was known to be in the democratic-republican party where he progresses an ideal structure of equivalencies between money and weight standards with the American/Spanish currency. Jefferson took charge of the republicans after a conflict created two parties, republican-democratic and the federalist, who empathized with the revolutionary cause in France. While attacking the federalist policies, Jefferson opposed a strong centralized government and granted the rights of states. Hamilton wanted to create public credit with a treasury system, a national bank, a mint, and increase manufacturing which would help unify the country. On the other hand, there was Jefferson, who opposed a strong central government. He argued that the “wealthy would gain at the expense of ordinary Americans and that Hamilton’s political economy would corrupt the morality of citizens and undermine the social conditions essential to republican government”(Powerpoint). The country would opt for an approach closer to Hamilton’s views. One of the first acts was the National Banking Act.
Republicans vs. Democrats When the United States of America was founded, George Washington warned against the formation of political parties. By the time the second election came around there were already two political parties, the Federalist and Democratic-Republicans. These parties eventually turned into the Republican and Democratic parties we have today. While these parties have shifted to become almost polar opposites politically, they still share some common goals.
