To emphasize, rights, equality and having a strong government is very important. Looked at through the eyes of many other countries, Americans are spoiled. Americans don’t realize how much freedom we actually have. To name a few rights of an American citizen; freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of the press, and the right to peacefully assemble. Every American takes advantage of these rights every day.
It’s the most honorable monument in the USA. From what i heard from www.nytimes said that it’s one of the most emotional moments ever in the USA. I don’t see why people wouldn’t want such great monuments like the vietnam war memorial war up. It’s one of the best things that we achieved in america 's pastime and a great accomplishment. Every name
"...As Americans, regardless of background, we are really more alike than we are different. Each of us has an obligation to stand up for the rights of fellow Americans — not with rancor or bitterness, but with pride and resolution”, once stated by former U.S Congressman Norman Y. Mineta, these words are often left unheeded in today’s American society. Not a single day goes by without ignorant individuals spewing toxic lines about stereotypes another individual’s heritage. In this day and age, it is beyond inconceivable that discrimination in any shape or size still exists in our world, let alone our nation. Undoubtedly, this is an issue that we must address, and the first step in solving it is to adhere to Mr. Mineta’s statement.
When the revolution started in New England, they were the only colony that had felt affected by the British government. Virginia was the largest British colon and Washington felt that they deserved recognition. Although Washington had a lot of experience with frontier warfare, he didn’t have enough experience to wage war on the most powerful nation. Washington did have one thing going for him though, he was courageous and smart enough to always stay one step ahead of the enemy. In 1776 Washington and his army had a victory.
The great President Ronald Reagan once said, “America is still a beacon, still a magnet for all who must have freedom, for all the pilgrims from all the lost places who are hurting through the darkness toward home.” (Artifact 4) Like a magnet, we draw people in. We are the only country in this entire world that has had such success from our very beginning. Because of the hope of a bright future, our founding fathers worked to make today possible. My personal belief is that God lifted their fences and cleared their foggy glasses a bit to give them each individually a glimpse of what could be. I believe they were gifted with imaginations far superior to yours and mine.
A Major Turning Point in American History During 1775 and the 1800s, The American Revolution became a very political change for what was becoming our own nation. While some things remained the same throughout time for us, other things have changed, which makes what we know today as the United States of America. ”Looking at the situation after the Revolution, Richard Morris comments: ‘Everywhere one finds inequality.’ He finds "the people" of "We the people of the United States" (a phrase coined by the very rich Gouverneur Morris) did not mean Indians or blacks or women or white servants. In fact, there were more indentured servants than ever, and the Revolution ‘did nothing to end and little to ameliorate white bondage.’" (Howard Zinn, Page 65) The American Revolution had many purposes- one not being for the people like the Constitution said it would
Every since America became its own country there has been this obsession with an idea of n American dream. The American dream is this idea where all Americans have are equal and have equals opportunities and achieving prosperity together. The truth is that their America is built with people that are on pedestals and have more control over important things that can have a major effect on America as a whole. This leaves the minority with no rights that they can stand up for that can truly make a difference. The arrogance of a percentage of American people put the American dream under attack; it created hatred between people and has become corrupt with
pilots, soldiers and anybody else in the military can be a patriot. in fact there probably the greatest patriots we have. They fight for us, our country and most importantly our freedoms. if we did not have our freedoms then we could go back to everybody being or servant sto others and not being equal. D. Martin Luther King has shaped America into something we today know as normal but things in the past they would look at us like were crazy.
With one look, people already believe they know everything about you. In simple words, an American today is just simply a hypocrite, and are blinded by the belief that they are living the “American Dream”. The American people have been deceived into believing that they are currently living in the most advanced country in the world, however statistics tell us otherwise. We
United States has always been the country that grow up celebrating ourselves as the world’s most powerful nation, the world’s richest nation, the world’s freest and most blessed nation. But in some ways we are not the best in the world like, 70th in health, 69th in ecosystem sustainability, 39th in basic education. In my opinion, we should be worried, because given our reputation this is not us, we were top of everything. When other countries look at us sees that we are ranking this, they probably will be laughing at we. We need to get back at where we were.
If I am going to be completely honest, racism is something that will never be able to come to an end. It is something that has been around since the beginning, and in America has only gotten bigger and stronger. The reason why I say racism has grown is because over time, generations of generations have been taught how to act around certain races, because they used to be enemies in the past. In this generation, everyone goes back and forth about equality, and thinking that everybody’s rights are equal, not being able to notice that white privilege has taken over greatly. Most people have different viewpoints on how equality and racism, but if they realized and took the time to look at both sides of each race and payed attention to what is really
