After the grooming exercise and your early arrival at the interview venue, note that an interview is just an opportunity to market yourself and convince the interviewer that you can be a good representative of the company and a good fit for the job challenges. Therefore either while waiting to be called for the interview or if you have already been called in to be interviewed, it is important that from the point you enter the room your carriage and posture must not be sloppy but straight. Your back should be straight while you look up confidently making eye contact (not arrogantly). Please do not shy away from eye contact , always ensure you maintain eye contact with each subject/interviewer once he or she directs a question towards you.

As I stepped into the room the interviewer asked me to sit down and then mumbled something after that but I was not concentrating so I sat down and just kept staring at the man. After about a minute he looked up and asked me why I had not responded to his questions, I was confused and then challenged him stating that he only told me to sit down. He immediately reminded me that he had told me to sit down and tell him about myself. Instantly I realized my mistake and remembered the quiet mumbled words I had not paid attention to. I had failed my first test at the …show more content…
Dare. Do! says confidence is important because it is the most attractive personal brand attribute. “When someone exudes confidence, we want to work with them. We are more likely to follow their lead. Confidence is the number one byproduct of the personal branding process, because in branding you uncover what makes you exceptional and use it to make career choices and deliver outstanding value.”
I love William’s explanation of the importance of confidence, it is your personal brand attribute and as we said in the previous chapter by human nature people are attracted to a confident person. To the interviewer it is one of the most critical attributes they are looking out for because this determines your presentation of their company. It is common knowledge that confident self-assured people are more positive contributors, more productive, good motivators and they make great role models .Also for any industry a confident person can sell a great image of the company’s brand.
Another major need for confidence is that it is an indication of good self –esteem of yourself. It keeps you strong against office maneuvers and politics, supervisor harassment and colleagues who will want to take advantage of

On the morning of Friday April 28th, I took a tour of the facility and conducted the interview at 28910 Pujol St Temecula, CA. (951) 587-3900. The way we think greatly influences our perspective on life and our actions. Life can be challenging and from time to time there will be major setbacks however, having a growth mindset and grit contributes to success. A growth mindset is the ability to develop and alter certain qualities to achieve success. Even if you are in an unfavorable situation a growth mindset allows you to change, giving you a better chance at success. Being gritty is a tremendous advantage because you do not have to be born with intelligence you can always work harder to compensate.

I generally begin my pre-writing with a healthy dose of procrastination, much like what I am doing right at this very moment. This is unfortunately due to an inherent flaw in my psyche, a crack in my foundation if you will, so there’s not much I can really do about it. I love pre-writing because I get to procrastinate on the actual writing portion by spending a ridiculous amount time on researching and building my outlines. Contrary to what you might think, my prewriting actually tends to be highly organized.

Whenever I write I always extensively research the topic and write down the important facts, so that I can develop my own explanations. Especially, since I was unfamiliar with the topic about building of your “brand.” it was necessary to dedicate a significant amount of time to understand the concept of a personal brand. Extensive research and preparation has become an asset personally and in the Applied Communication program at National Louis University. Consequently, using this strategy allows me to provide pertinent details and get straight to the point, so readers don’t get bored.
The interview style that would make me feel most comfortable is behavioral interview. The reason being, a behavioral interview would be best for identifying my qualifications. As opposed to simply showing I have six years’ experience, I would be able to better demonstrate the experience I’ve gained through numerous nonstandard operations. I would feel least comfortable conducting a computer-based interview. This type of interview would be the most difficult to standout from other applicants.
Before interning with DFCS I would not have described myself as someone lacking confidence, rather someone who just needed to realize their full potential. Interning with DFCS brought that out in me. At first I was very scared and nervous because I did not want to do something wrong or mess up, but as the weeks went by my confidence grew tremendously. Through the weeks and months interning at DFCS it also became clear that my supervisors trusted me more. The confidence they had in me boosted my confidence in that I knew that if they thought I could handle something that I could handle it.
