Effects of the Industrial Revolution The Industrial Revolution was an important event in history. It brought about many positives during its time. For instance, kids were well fed, educated, and clothed. There were plenty of negatives, as well. One very sad example was the machine injuries that happened to both children and adults.
The Industrial Revolution had brought many positive and negative effects is the American Society. The positive effects included production of better goods at a faster rate, improvement in education system, the improved transportation system in the United States and the development of long distance communication. While the negative effects included the increase in population in urban areas, pollution and issues with the child labor. Factories were able to produce goods at a faster and a cheaper rate with the help of the advanced machines. The education system in the United States were developed as the need for engineers, accountants and other professionals increased.
There were some positives; for instance, children were allowed to receive proper education and the adults having enough money to put food on the table. However, that wouldn't change the fact that the Industrial Revolution was full of self-interested factory owners. Which meant that the factory owners only cared about their lives better.
Something that was good about the industrial revolution was that there was more workers and people could get payed more. Things that were bad was that little kids could. That’s bad because kid get hurt for example, for kids who worked on farms would ride on horse rakes and easily fall off and get crushed. Kids would get overworked after working 12 hours a day.
The Industrial Revolution witnessed the evolution of large urban centers, such as Boston and New York City. It changed society from agrarian to mechanical, which further moved jobs to larger cities. As every coin has two sides, there are negative sides to this. Primarily, it caused severe pollution. The environment condition was bad with smokes surrounding them.
The Industrial revolution was a time of great change for the world. It was a time where we started replacing homemade products for machine made products. We exchanged quality for quantity and the first time we saw mass production. Along with these changes, also came a change in working conditions and workers. The Industrial Revolution brought on a time where working conditions were miserable, hours were unthinkable, and the ages of children were unreal.
While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily positive consequences for society because of the advancements in technology, it was actually a negative thing for society. Industrialization’s negative effects were little to no education, poor, horrible working conditions, and the use of over competition for jobs. Although the United States of America has progressed because of this revolution, it also affected many people in the most negative way possible. These three reasons have effected families’ ancestors for centuries.

During the Industrial Revolution big businesses took places of small workshops, increasing to quantity but not quality. This made many people lose their jobs, and now there was only one place to work the factories. Ahead of these factories were big business owners, some born into money others worked their way up to it like Andrew Carnegie. Work at these factories became unsafe and the pay was bad, they could only blame one person and that was the owners.
