JFK Assassination John F. Kennedy (JFK) was in Dallas, Texas on Friday, November 22, 1963 campaigning for the upcoming election. He was riding in an open-top 1961 Lincoln Continental 4-door convertible limousine with his wife, Jacqueline and the Governor of Texas and his wife, John and Nellie Connally. JFK was on a route designed to allow many people to see him. It was a warm, clear, happy day until the motorcade turned left on Elm Street. JFK’s last words were a response to Nellie Connally, she had said “Mr. President you can’t say Dallas doesn't love you”. He responded with “No, you certainly can’t”. During that time the motorcade had traveled 60-80 feet on Elm Street when the first shot missed the intended target and was only heard by few, …show more content…
LBJ was sworn into office less than 3 hours after the shooting. He took the oath of office on Airforce One at the airport. Mrs. Kennedy was there in the dress that had President Kennedy’s blood on it. President Johnson’s first presidential proclamation came the following day when he declared November 25, 1963 would be a national day of mourning for John F. Kennedy. After the assassination of JFK the secret service changed many policies, such as; all presidents must ride in enclosed cars, presidents may no longer walk along the routes to shake hands, congress allowed Mrs. Kennedy and her children 2 more years of protection after leaving the White House and then in 1965 congress voted for lifetime protection, and the secret service has grown from 513 in 1963 to over 6500 today. If you ask anyone who was alive in 1963 where they were when JFK was shot, they can probably tell you. The nation mourned-Democrats and Republicans. Newsman, Walter Cronkite broke the news on television. JFK’s body laid in the East room of the White House for 24 hours before being taken by a horse drawn wagon to Arlington National Cemetery where his grave has an eternal candle. Political representatives form 90 countries attended his funeral. The presidents death today, still causes sadness when talked
John F. Kennedy, also known as JFK, is perhaps the most-loved president in American history. Our 35th President of the United States served from January 1961 until his assassination in November 1963. Although he was young and did not get to serve his full term he accomplished many great things. All these documents embody the beginning of an admirable presidency and the commencement of a new hope for a nation gone forlorn. Kennedy served at the pinnacle of the Cold War and spent a large fragment of his presidency focusing on managing relations with the Soviet Union.
On November 22, 1963 time froze when the beloved John F. Kennedy was tragically taken from this world. We will be looking at two accounts of the assassination, the first will be the official account AKA, the Warren commission 's report. John F. Kennedy Assassination Conspiracy Theory: Lyndon B. Johnson John F. Kennedy, the 35th United States President, was assassinated on November 22, 1963 during a parade while he and his wife were visiting Dallas, Texas. The Warren Commission has concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald, a lone shooter, was the man who committed the crime. Over the years after Kennedy’s death, people have come up with other ideas of why and how this president died. One of many conspiracies was made by his wife, Jacqueline Kennedy, saying that Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson had something to do with it. She believed that he wanted to become the president so badly that he would kill to get it.
John (Jack) F Kennedy first got involved into the Senate in 1953. He always dreamed of being in “the big office” as the president of the United States of America. So ran for the president for the Democratic party. He was elected on November 08, 1960, becoming the 35th president of the United States of America.
He said that this day was “a slow day that burst into action when the first dispatches from Dallas went out.” They say that when Cronkite announced the death of Kennedy, he cried on the air. He tried to hold it back by swallowing his feelings, but then a single tear ran down his face. Another assassination that Cronkite announced was Martin Luther King Jr’s. This segment aired on April 4, 1968.
“The JFK assassination was the seminal national event in the lives of the Baby Boomer generation.” (Donald Jeffries) The tragic incident that happened in 1963 will never be forgotten, but somehow good things came from it. John F. Kennedy was a strong man and did what he believed was right. He changed the nation before and after his death.
Brian Hernandez Prof. Cicirelli CM-115-02 11/30/15 JFK Assassination Many conspiracies have taken place within government, but none of them have been more serious then JFK assassination. When JFK had fired its director and other agents, the CIA was scared that Kennedy would take down the CIA permently, he believed to be an extremely terrible agency under the government. The shooter, Lee Harvey Oswald, who was in the marines at one point was planted into the biggest CIA camp somewhere in the Asian pacific and had been wanting to attend the CIA. Apparently he was the guy for the job. Many critics say that Lee Harvey Oswald might have been brain washed by the CIA.
After the assassination of JFK the world was affected greatly. The family, government, America, american people, and the public suffered a great loss. The world lost a very special and important person because of something someone else did. The assassination of JFK was one of the many things that will never be forgotten in our world today. Jacqueline Kennedy lost one of her most valued friends and family.
“The purpose of protecting the life of our Nation and preserving the liberty of our citizens is to pursue the happiness of our people. Our success in that pursuit is the test of our success as a Nation.” The assassination of Kennedy put many American citizens on edge and many Americans felt sympathy for Johnson as he was sworn in as president under difficult circumstances. He was sworn in as Vice President of the United States in January 1961, after he had become the Kennedy's running mate in 1960. On November 22, 1963, after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in as the new President of the United States (History.com Staff, “Great Society”).

President Kennedy died at 1 p.m. Central Standard Time.” Walter Cronkite. These legendary words were the first time anyone had heard that their great president was dead. This tragic day showed America and the world the flaws of their country and how things can change in a blink of an eye.
John F. Kennedy was a well know person in the United States. He was America 's 35th President from January 20, 1961 to November 22, 1963. Sadly his life was cut short in a trip to Dallas, Texas. The gunman was later founded and arrested but never stood trial because he was later killed. FBI release that it was a lone gunman work but many people say that there was another person involved in another build.
Lyndon B. Johnson, A polarizing figure; The “Great Society” besides The Vietnam War When a president comes into office following the death of the previous President, whether the death was accidental or not; the new elected president finds himself or herself in that shadow of that person. The position of vice-president is not an easy one in American government and politics. The position is one that the vice-president feels second to holder of the office of president. The vice president is part of the cabinet from the essence of the president’s term, yet the political agenda and decisions are ran by the president. John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson are very much different.
On April 4, 1968, Robert F. Kennedy was in Indianapolis for a campaign stop, when he received news that Martin Luther King was killed, causing Kennedy to write and deliver a speech regarding the assassination. This speech was succinct but not only was it about the assassination, it was also to tell the people there is still wisdom and hope in this time of turmoil. To reach this purpose, he first builds up his ethos, uses pathos to add mood and hope, and unifies the people. The combination of these elements makes it a very powerful and memorable speech. Robert F. Kennedy builds his credibility by relating his personal experience and knowledge of what the audience is feeling to the current events.
His presidency came to a quick close when he was assinated in Dallas, Texas while giving speeches. It happened on November 21st 1963, Kennedy was in a car with his wife, driving around Dallas and a man named Lee Harvey Oswald shot him from a building window. A couple days late a man name Jack Ruby ended up killing Oswald. Kennedy's vice-president Lyndon B. Johnson became the 36th President. John F.
