What is it like to be in a fairy tale? No one really knows, unless you travel to one of the most beautiful places in Japan. In the Japan lies Yakushima, an Island of the cost of Japan. This Island is 37 miles to the South of Kyushu, Yakushima is Japan’s third largest Island. The island holds many beauties including the tall mountains and the extremely old forests. These beauties make Yakushima secluded and untouched paradise, which seems like it is a world away from the busy cities of Japan. This beautiful island was designated a UNSECO world heritage site. In recent years tourist or scientist have discovered some of Yakushima’s secrets. The small Island of Yakushima is a round island that has many mountains and is 17 miles wide. In just a few days you can explore the entire island and enjoy being on an island. Yakushima is known for the beautiful sights and forests that consume most of the mountain. This island is also home to the cedar trees, some of these trees are over a thousand years old. The fairytale-like trees that were twisted with moss roots was the inspiration for the Studio Ghibli animation, Princess Mononoke. This film was written by Hayao Miyazaki, who also wrote a total of 32 stories, some of which were not published in America. The Tremendously damp climate results in crystal clear rivers that somersault down from the high peaks, ensuing in spectacular waterfalls, which slice their way through the granite bedrock.
The “island” is in fact a collection of coral rubble and is susceptible to humans, wearing the damage with as much dignity as a coral reef can muster. One Tree Island holds some answers to Kolbert’s questions and with the help of the scientists living
The Laframboise Island Nature Area is filled with trees and meadows, which is home to numerous species of birds. You guys are probably wondering who made up the word ‘Laframboise’. Joseph Laframboise built the island in 1804. Laframboise Island is also called “Bad Humor” island since Clark said, “I call this Island ‘bad humored’ Island as we were in a bad humor". The island’s landscape includes the water on all sides, native cottonwood trees, sand bars and animals including deer and birds.
The second problem was military. Scholar- bureaucrats generally had little military education and little talent for military affairs, yet they led Song armies in the field and made military decisions. It was not coincidence that nomadic peoples flourished along China 's northern border throughout the Song dynasty. From the early tenth through the early twelfth century, the Khitan, a seminomadic people from Manchuria, ruled a vast empire stretching from northern Korea to Mongolia. During the first half of the Song dynasty, the Khitan demanded and received large tribute payments of silk and silver from the Song state to the south.
Fairy tales are a big part of our childhood, they are the first window to real life. In the excerpt “The Uses of Enchantment” by Bruno Bettelheim, he points out all the benefits fairy tales posses and their significance to our development. He argues that classical fairy tales in contrast to modern stories have more of the “existential anxieties and dilemmas” of life kids need to familiarize in order to have the ability to understand and have a “satisfying independent” life. Undoubtedly, modern fairy tales sanitize every unpleasant aspect and leave the stories as a complete fantasy taking out any realistic aspiration. Consequently, I agree with Bettelheim due to the fact that modern versions of fairy tales leave kids thinking life is an easy
Cinderella After Cinderella, by Charles Perrault, we are acquainted with the moral that “beauty is a treasure, but graciousness is priceless. Without it, nothing is possible; with it, one can do anything.” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinderella#Cendrillon.2C_by_Perrault) “Without doubt it is a great advantage to have intelligence, courage, good breeding, and common sense. These, and similar talents come only from heaven, and it is good to have them. However, even these may fail to bring you success, without the blessing of a godfather or a godmother.”
The film showed a jungle-like setting, with no mountains or Rima. Moreover, as you see above, there are many similarities in the setting of the film and the story, with a few contrasts as
The Invisible Kingdom is a book about the author, Meghan O’Rourke, and her journey of being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. She walks through specific moments in time when she was at her worst, in addition to giving the reader a further understanding of the medical terms she uses and the current research there is about these terms. This helps the credibility of the book as she has experienced what it is like to live with this type of disease, and she has done exponential research on every point she talks about. Ultimately, O’Rourke could be considered biased because of the fact she is giving a personal story and only from her standpoint. She did not interview the doctors helping her and obtain their side of the story.
Absolute monarchies had all the power in Europe. Their kingdoms were powerful and accomplished. Although absolute monarchies empowered and enriched their kingdoms, they were still largely detrimental because of King Louis XIV of France, debt, Frederick the Great’s seizure of Silesia, and the city of St. Petersburg. King Louis XIV of France was an absolute monarch.
The common thought that people have about Disney is happiness and merriment. Ridley Pearson provides an opposing view in the book “Kingdom Keepers II” by showing the darkest parts of what we thought we all knew. Pearson allows this to occur by taking the reader through the lives of kids who work as DHIs(Disney Host Interactions) that become holographic people that fight the villains. Pearson not only does this to show his opinion, but he uses it to intrigue the reader enough to want to keep reading. This fictional fantasy about Disney and Disney parks are mysterious and allows an appeal to readers.
From the cinematic techniques to the plot line, the film incorporates many elements of the style of film. Despite being set in an older period of time and adapting the elements of the spaghetti westerns, it appeals largely to the modern audience due to the certain things which capture their attention. After landing in the island of Oahu, the first impression we had was that the island looked like paradise. Perhaps even the paradise where Adam and Eve lived, after the world was created. The green environment was very exquisite. Coconut trees and palm trees adorned the city of Honolulu. It was beautiful to see how the green grass moved side to side as the wind blew.
Imagine being responsible for the life of a little girl and cannot do anything about it. This young vulnerable life that just vanished away forever. Bella is a movie about a chef named Jose who was going be a professional soccer player until he wrecks his career because he accidentally kills a little girl and lives with that regret. “And of Clay We Are Created” is a short story about this young television reporter named Rolf Carle who tries to rescue a young girl stuck in mud-pit due to a volcano eruption in Chile. Through the use of flashbacks, family, and mood/tone from both protagonists of “And of Clay We Are Created” and Bella the author and director capture the hearts of the audience.

In chapters six and seven of his book, “The Prince”, Niccolo Machiavelli stated that the difficulty in keeping and maintaining new principalities depends on how the prince acquired them. The principalities can be acquired either by one’s own arms and abilities or by the arms of others and by relying on luck or good fortune. Although the two options will both mitigate different problems and issues, Machiavelli argues that those who rely least on good fortune will come out the strongest. In this chapter, the dependent variable would be the difficulty a prince would experience in acquiring a principality. The independent variable then will be the method in acquiring the principality, whether through ability or good fortune.
