From ancient times to the present day, human has always had a strong attachment to nature. But nowadays, with the development of technology, which also means human’s life is more and more convenient, people gradually forget their responsibilities to the environment.
Environment is the surroundings, conditions in which a person, animal or plant lives and operates or we can also regard it as “home” for every creature. However, in contrast with what a person should do to his house, human kind treats badly to nature. Via the media, we are able to understand some parts of these inhumane behaviors and their corollaries. Today, people are facing up with the consequences of the illegal deforestation. Lots of organizations that specialize in environment such as: Global Environmental Facilities, The global Environment Information Centre, Greenpeace Organization, etc. have been founded. With the statistics and factual information from these unions, people can be constantly updated and take actions to improve environmental problems as soon as possible. There are also many campaigns held to advance human’s awareness about the importance of nature and how to protect the environment. For example, the “Get up! Action for Australia”- a campaign to stop climate change with the participation of over 600.000 people got 120000 signatures to petition for the solutions to this difficulty, which makes the society all over the world support wholeheartedly. And in a constant effort, governmental institutions have stopped several cases relevant to illegal endangered species trade. Besides, there are stills a lot of ways to overcome environmental problems. People are usually encouraged to commute by biking, walking or public transportation to fight global warning, but if they must own a motor vehicle, consider trading in their gas guzzle for a fuel efficient hybrid of better yet-go electric. The citizens in many countries are as well more responsible to keep the surroundings clean: trash on the rivers gradually disappears or when going on streets, you will no longer see indiscriminate waste. Natural resources such as: wind, solar power, water, etc. are also in use, which helps release pollution level considerably and save a large mount of money.
