In my opinion there are a lot of comparisons between the film and the book, but there are also differences between them too, but also they have impacted the audience in both the film and the
In Of Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck, there are many encounters of discrimination. Discrimination is unfair treatment of a person based on who they are, a group of similar people, class or category. The characters whose discrimination stands out the most are Lennie Small, Crooks, and Curley’s Wife. Readers will find that their discrimination is based on race, the mentally handicap, and gender (a woman’s way of social interaction with men).
Everyone lives in danger of dying at any time, why would anyone want to make the chances higher by allowing other people to kill them when they are sad, sick, depressed and vulnerable? In the story Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, the main character Lennie kills the boss's sons wife and didn't know right from wrong. Everyone on the Ranch wanted Lennie dead which led to the other main character George to think the only way to save Lennie was to kill him himself. Furthermore, this novel is showing the characters thought it was the only way, but really they could've kept a(n) life and could've taught him right from wrong. Life is important and everyone's life can be improved no matter how bad it may seem.

Many people, if asked what they would prefer, would prefer to read the book instead of watching the movie. It could be because the movie will always leave some parts from the story out. It seems like directors of the movie always leave out parts from the book, only incorporating the important parts from the story. Some also say that they prefer to leave the descriptions of things in the book up to their imagination. Also, when you are reading the book, you get to read the main characters point of view on things.
In the book, George kills Lennie and the says that he needs a drink. In the movie, however, George kills Lennie and there is an immediate flashback to George and Lennie happily together.
