A wild pitch made it a one run game and Ryan McDonald issued a two-run double to Connor Wanhannen to give TCU a 7-6 lead. The Horned Frogs added its final run on Skoug’s second home run in the ninth inning for the 8-6 final. The two teams will square off on Sunday at noon in the
Boom Let One Slip Away ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – The second night in a row produced the same result, as the Altamonte Springs Boom suffered a 3-2 loss to the Sanford River Rats, at Lake Brantley High School, Wednesday night. They now sit one and one-half games out of first place, with 12 games left in the regular season. They also wasted another quality start by their starting pitcher, this time it was Matt Hardy (Nova Southeastern), who took the hard-luck loss. “I was in a really good groove the first six innings.” Hardy said, “I did not have the same feeling in the seventh.” His start was the second in two nights for Boom starting pitchers, however they both suffered tough losses. After allowing two hits and one walk in the seventh inning, with one out, Austin Glorious (St. Thomas) relieved him out of the bullpen.
After about a year my pitching dreams came true and pitched a couple of innings in a game. After that happened I realized that I didn’t want to just play third base and pitcher in order to play more in games. My coach had asked me if I wanted to learn how to be a catcher because my team only had one and she wasn’t going to be able to play next year due to her age. I agreed to try it and I instantly liked it because I felt in charge and in control of the ball. I finished playing summer softball as the main catcher for every
For many many years I was always seen as the player the team called on to pull the team out of a rut. To make things a bit more complicated my high school coach had been my coach my entire softball career. He knew how I thought, how i played, and really molded me into the player I am today. I soon graduated from my little league summer softball to the competitive nature of highschool ball. As a freshman I knew I was going to be overlooked.
MORGANTOWN, W.Va.--A game that started as a pitcher 's duel turned ugly for the West Virginia University baseball team in the latter innings as Furman defeated the Mountaineers in in the series-opener on Friday evening at Monongalia County Ballpark. Junior Chad Donato (1-3) was cruising during the first fine innings before things got shaky in the sixth. Matt Towarnicky 's one-out base hit into right field started the six hit, five run barrage. Carter Grote doubled and Sims Griffith was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Cameron Whitehead 's RBI single gave the Paladins (12-17) a 1-0 lead.
Dane Kutnick is in right field , Tanner Smith at first, and Jason VanDenLangenberg is catching. We have played 3 tournaments together, but we already looked like we have been playing together for a long time. We may not have known it yet, but they were going to turn one of the best plays of the year. We are going into the bottom of the 6th inning. The first pitch crack of the ball off the bat a triple.
The Red Sox were the first team to win 3 championship trophies in the 21 century. From 1901 when the Red Sox were founded they were called the boston red stockings, until was changed in 1908. The Red Sox were doing well winning championships until 1918, when they started their Championship drought, not winning a championship for a devastating 86 years. Bostonians
Bobby tried to score, but the throw was on point and he got out. His mom said, “Good try Bobby.” His coach said’ “Better luck next time, Bobby.” In the fourth inning, Bobby was up again. The first pitch was a fastball inside. It hit Bobby in the leg and
I gave it my all and pitched like there was no tomorrow. As we were nearing the end of the game the score was close, but we were ahead by one point. It had just become and even more intense that it already was. Every single person was on the edge of their seat waiting to see who would win it all. My team was up to bat and I was on third base.
It was a scorching 100 degree summer day. It was the start of the 11 year state championship baseball game against Albert Lea, I still remember that game like it was yesterday. It was miserable out we played three games that day before reaching the state championship. When the game started I kind of forgot about how hot it was out. We started fast scoring 2 runs in the top of the 1st inning Dylan and Reno each crossed the plate that inning.
Freshman Darius Hill has knocked in a team-leading 11 RBI for WVU. Junior right-hander Chad Donato (0-2) gets the ball on Friday night 's opener. He is winless on the season but the Mountaineers are 2-2 when he pitches. Donato has posted a 0-2 record
On Saturday morning I got up early and worked Fancy one last time before the round that night. Saturday seemed to drag on but finally it was show time. Walking into the arena was the most nerve-wracking moment of my life; the bleachers were packed and there were people with big cameras everywhere. It felt as though I was famous! As the announcer called my name the only thing I could think about was making a solid run.
