Ideologies Liberalism and conservatism are the two principal political ideologies in America, but many Americans favor the elements of the moderate ideology. A major controversial topic among ideologies is government sponsored health-care. Liberals believe the nation is only as strong as its weakest link, therefore Americans need to help each other become strong as a whole. They believe the Constitution gives the United States the framework to help all citizens as needed. Liberals want everyone to have the same opportunities and to be treated the same way, therefore they would want free or low costing government controlled health-care. There are thousands of Americans that cannot afford health-care and are then deprived of basic needs. Conservatives
They believe that it’s a solution to the problem of the poor not having the same access to healthcare as those who are getting full access to it. The Conservatives see it as a problem. They say that the health of the United States has improved. They see it as everyone needing to take full responsibility for their own health. That their health insurance should be controlled by their employers or paid by them as individuals in a free market system.
The people in America deserves that right to have health care. Insurance based health care should be taken away because not everyone is able to afford the premiums. Health care now states that basically that if you have no health care than you are not able to get any check ups. How can you feel if you can 't afford insurance and you have to make a choice? Some people cannot even afford food on the table so how can they afford insurance?I do not believe that people should not be financially responsible for getting help when they need it the most.
As america began its venture toward the new millennium and a change would come. Before nixon would reach office two democratic politicians preceded him and after years of our country 's involvement in Vietnam and the constant fear the American people lived through during the cold war they wanted change. This would spark neoconservativism as people would fall out of sync of the democrats policy of foreign affairs and begin to tread to the other parties policies or points of views.but tges n conservatives would still uphold some of their democratic interest while still in the republican party which basically puts the neo in the neo conservative.but how would this become into fortune and effect the america of the time.
Conservatives believe in limited government intervention and personal responsibility while liberals believe in increased government intervention and that the responsibility of repairing social ills lies with the government. Conservatives are pro-life, while liberals are pro-choice. Liberals are opposed to the death penalty while conservatives support it. Conservatives are in favor of a free-market system while liberals are in favor of a market system with government regulation. Despite their disagreements, conservatives and liberals seem to both agree on prison reform and the majority of foreign relations; although their ideologies may differ on how to approach these problems they both agree that these problems need to be confronted.
The republican ideology consists of maximizing personal liberty through certain democratic preconditions. In this system, the government must be concerned about shaping virtuous citizens by insuring they are engaged in politics, well educated, critical thinkers, and willing to sacrifice for the good of the community. The political concept of liberalism also prioritizes personal liberty above all else, however, the approach differs drastically from that of republican ideology. Although the two types of liberalism (classical and modern) diverge on the issue of government intervention, they both look to limit power in the government, majorities, and fundamental liberties. These two political ideologies are in play in American politics and cause discord between the implementation and interpretation of policy simply on the grounds of their differences.
Health care should not be considered a political argument in America; it is a matter of basic human rights. Something that many people seem to forget is that the US is the only industrialized western nation that lacks a universal health care system. The National Health Care Disparities Report, as well as author and health care worker Nicholas Conley and Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP), strongly suggest that the US needs a universal health care system. The most secure solution for many problems in America, such as wasted spending on a flawed non-universal health care system and 46.8 million Americans being uninsured, is to organize a national health care program in the US that covers all citizens for medical necessities.
Throughout the world we all have different political ideologies, meaning we all have different ideas and values about how the role of government should function. We base these ideas and values from our religious background, culture and our philosophical beliefs. Our country in particular has the luxury of deciding who gets to rule because we are a democracy. The two significant political ideologies that are well known around our country are liberal and conservative philosophies. The two beliefs play an important role in the republican party and democratic party which also shapes our political system.
Through the demonstration of examples, predictions, and historical incidents, the idea that both ideologies are necessary creates the most beneficial society. When it comes to defending our country, the general rule for the ideologies is that Conservatives
Healthcare is something everyone needs and should be able to get, but right now that is not happening. In America there are millions of people who don’t have healthcare insurance. This is because some can’t afford the insurance plan. There are also millions more who have health insurance, but can’t afford using it. This means that they are paying for an insurance plan, but the deductibles are so high they can’t afford to go to the doctor.
There is proof and evidence that Americans citizens do not receive the healthcare that they need despite the fact that the U.S. spends more funds per individual on health care than compared to any other country. Individuals who are battling prolonged diseases such as, diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease does not get the established and actual treatment that they should. For example, these individuals should be receiving drug therapies or self-management services so that they can assist them more efficiently and help them control their conditions. This goes for every American citizens that is uninsured, insured, or under-insured. These problems that the individuals are facing are only worsen due to the fact of lack of coordination
Political ideologies are linked to welfare and family policy because their personal belief systems (e.g. values) affect the way they vote on policies. Another linkage that political ideologies play in welfare and policy is the financial backings of large corporations, lobbyists, and labor unions. For example, if the political ideologies are for fair trade, labor, and society than the focus of left-wing thinkers (e.g. liberal, progressive, etc.) is that government should spend money for the support of vulnerable citizens. If the ideology is individuality, fair trade, support for employers more than labor, and free trade/ market, then that is considered to be right wing thinkers (e.g. conservative, traditional, and) and the focus is on self
As Bernie Sanders once said, “Health care must be recognized as a right, not a privilege.” Most developed countries choose to live by this quote while the United States of America chooses to go against it. Universal health care has benefits on multiple levels, whether it’s a single individual or the people in a whole. The U.S is one of the few developed countries that doesn’t offer universal health care to their people, yet the U.S spends more than seventeen percent of their GDP on health insurance. Many people believe that universal health care is a simple one solution problem, but the truth is that there are multiple forms of universal health care that provide all citizens with the health insurance they need.
How did ideologies create the modern world? The human psyche is based on ideologies. Whether you put a name to it or not, many of the decisions that one makes in their day to day life are based on the ideologies that either they grew up around or they have chosen. While religion and ideology are closely associated with each other, there does exist several secular ideologies that are responsible for the existence of the world as we know it.
Political ideologies have served as a foundation for modern day governments, and provided a set of guidelines help maintain social and economic needs of the people. Classical liberalism and conservative liberalism are two examples of ideologies that influenced modern day government. However, society during the birth of these ideologies contains little or no similarities to modern day society. If modern day activists, such as the Deep Green Resistance, were to get their hands on writings of classical philosophers, they will find a variety of strong support, to no support at all. The Deep Green Resistance is a group of individuals with a goal “to deprive the rich of their ability to steal from the poor and the powerful of their ability to destroy
Freeden uses his book 'A Very Short Introduction' to contribute a definition of political ideology as being a collection of values, opinions, ideas and beliefs that show a repeated sequence. A political ideology is 'held by notable organisations (political party) who contest over supplying and ruling policy for the public they do this by defending, challenging or differing the political as well as social measures and mechanisms of a political society' (Freeden 2003).
