There are many different types of career pathways one can take. You can go into the medical field to become a doctor, or perhaps decide to go into the science field to work with different chemicals or biology. The career I wish to pursue is in the field of music. Some say that finding a good career in music is difficult. Many think that music careers are singers, rockstars, or teachers. However, I have done research, and found that there are more opportunities than are inferred about the music buisness. The music field is opened to many job options. There are indeed openings to be a rockstar or singer, but there is much more. There are different catagories you can choose from. Even though there are many positive outcomes to being a musician, many become cynical, or self centered. They feel that they are not appreciated enough and become negative. By becoming negative, they influence this negativity among their audience and peers. Also, if not careful, musicians can become different than who they were. They can become self-centered and greedy due to the fame and fortune. Careers in the musical field can change you as a person. Another con is limited advanced opportunities. While first players get many opportunities, second and third players, who create chords and do not usually have the melody, do not get the same chances. They are limited to advancing in their areas, which creates their position though. The only way second or third players can move up is if a first player leaves or retires. This gives the second and third players hardly a chance to prove themselves and advance. Furthermore, work is demanding. In order to keep up and do the best, you have to practice a lot. Practicing can take up hours of time, even on vacations. If you do not keep up on practices with others and on your own, your skills can diminish, and all that work would be for nothing.
