Pros And Cons Of Second Amendment

The Second Amendment is very important amendment. There are many different positions on the second amendment. My position on the amendment is that I think you should be able to own a gun with having experience with shooting that gun. Having said so many people think that guns are dangerous and should be banned. But in all reality guns are not the problem because in Chicago the have very strict gun control but yet have the most crime rate in America right now. Making it to where people can’t have gun honestly makes them want them even more. For instance when a mother tells a child then can’t do something that makes them want to do it even more than before, so therefore why do they think making laws about guns will make the crime go down. The 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution Probably the most debated amendment, the Second Amendment, was originally created so the people of the US could protect themselves but people argue that now it is doing more harm than good. Some say that this amendment is only meant to protect cities with militias but most say that it is meant for individuals to protects their homes, families, and themselves with firearms. The Second Amendment had made a big impact in the U.S. The Second Amendment stated “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the to security of a free state , the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” Many citizens do not support the second amendment or as known as Anti-Federalists. Anti-Federalists is anyone who doesn’t support anything in the constitution. But it needs to be supported by the citizens to keep yourself safe. For instance, this amendment states “ Keep and bear arms.” This means that is the people's right to have their own arms for their defense. This is good because you have the protection you need.

Due to recent events and circumstances, this freedom and right that has been granted is now threatened by those who feel that it is too “dangerous” to protect yourself. Being that I myself nor any of my family owns a firearm, one might speculate that we do not feel the need for protection.

Since the begining of America, the Founding Fathers wrote the strong-standing Bill of Rights with amendments to protect the country that had just recently won their freedom, but one amendment has been the top theme of controversies for centuries. Gun laws offend the Bill of Rights in so many ways and they prove ineffective. Gun Laws are relevant due to thousands of deaths and self-protection. The argument goes on but without guns there is militia, one of the main intents of the Second Amendment. These simple rules can reduce deaths, proven by millions of influential people.

This right can be taken away from one when they do some sort of crime that goes against this and gets their right taken away from them. Around 3 million americans carry a gun with they all the time with a concealed weapons permit. That number is 20% out of the 15 million americans that have a concealed weapons permit. We should not get rid of the right to carry a concealed weapon though there are exceptions depending on the person and their history.

Guns should be banned in America, with 30,000 deaths yearly in America, we need to do something about it. Many counties have made strict gun control laws or just have banned guns and that seems to be helping them. We have the most gun deaths out of all wealthy countries, which is unacceptable and we need to change it as fast as possible to prevent further deaths. Many people say that guns shouldn't be banned because of how the Second Amendment says, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” The Second Amendment was written in 1791, around 225 years ago!

The 1st amendment is fundamental in a democracy, it gives each individual their opinion about a certain subject and gives the people the "power" to speak out when they find something wrong. For example, they can speak what they find wrong with our Representatives, without the retaliation or censorship of the government. You might think that you can go down the street and say whatever you like without anybody telling you can't.
