But coming to America made me receive a higher level of education because many opportunities were ahead of me since everyone is given equal opportunities in America. In high school, taking those AP classes helped me understand the college level education. Holy Family is known for their Nursing program. Many students attend Holy Family dreaming of graduating with a good GPA and hoping to be prepared for their future jobs and goals.
I plan to continue my education full time because I understand the demands of an accelerated nursing program and preparation for the NCLEX test is a substantial commitment. I think the curriculum of the Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, a degree program that requires pre-requisite science classes and natural science classes, helped prepare me for the requirements nursing will bring. I have also take pathophysiology as an elective at MSU and completed the State of Ohio’s STNA course and examination. This background and the focus of being a full time nursing student should contribute towards success at Xavier in the accelerated nursing program and enable me to achieve my
Growing up, I always loved helping and taking care of people. After high school I became and EMT and it was a job that I loved but had to give up after having children. Being able to help someone in their time of need, just gave me the satisfaction of knowing that I had a purpose in this world. With nursing, there can be very different scopes of practice.

Before I started DOS and the nursing program at Georgian I had never had the experience of looking up scholarly articles and journals through CINAHL, now I know how to find files that are scholarly written and peer reviewed. Climbing up the ladder to achieve a master degree in nursing will be the first commendable achievement. It is indeed prudent to note that achieving all these things requires the support of all the stakeholders in the nursing
I always had a heart for the older generation and even the very young, because you can always learn from people daily. My overall experience, was very hands on, quick, and definitely a learning experience. We tend to do head to toe assignments, check the residents vital signs, check their feeding percentages, and even their medical backgrounds to see if they are having any improvements or not. Since I was a nursing student, for the most part we had to observe a lot and I love every bit of it, but there were many times they would put each of us on the spot to get a random resident to help feed them, help them to therapy, check their vitals, assist them to the restroom, bathing, several cleanings, or help assist them to their rooms along with their daily assessments and activities. My overall experience was very good and that experience is one that I will never forget, because I’ve learned so much just by being there and having to do actual assessment and vitals on real people.
It is crazy thinking about all the resources we have now to help people return from injuries. We have come such a long way in helping people with technology over the years. I learned that ultrasound can help warm muscles up in spots that are hard to warm up. Since I will be taking kinesiology next semester and I am really looking forward to it. I asked Nicole what some of the content will be like in the class.
Her last goal is to work at UAMS. It’s her dream place to work. This hospital has the most income of patients and she wants to help as many as possible. It’s also associated with a school which can help her move even higher up the healthcare field if she pleases. With all of these hopes and dreams, along with the help and support of her loving family, I believe Andi can do anything and everything she puts her mind to.
I also do well in math and science classes, and science classes, in particular, are extremely interesting to me. What sparked my interest in becoming a Physician Assistant was my sister. She has been studying to become a PA and has enjoyed it. I can continue to learn about this career by talking to my sister about all that she is learning and asking her about what it is like. Also, I can keep doing research on Physician Assistants in any way that I can to keep educating myself on the career.
Being in the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) class with Ms.Pennington is always interesting. We attend class every morning during the week from 9:00am.m to 11:30am. The main thing that we work on is all the procedures we need for the residents. But we also work on how to keep the resident safe, and comfortable. Being in the CNA class helps us move forward in the medical field.
Lastly, I am also taking college classes to further educate myself in subjects that I enjoy. With the countless number of possible majors available, there is a great deal of classes that cover a wide variety of subjects. Attaining a college education has always been important to me and my family. My reasons for taking college classes represent my own personal will. It represents my own personal dream of becoming a physical therapist.
