This week is my last week of internship in the national company. This was very effective internship in term of skills and knowledge that it gave to me. The most interesting and exciting day was my first day, when I was reading the documentations and was given the first tasks. This year, once again I understood that what we learn in the classroom has a big difference with what we face in the real work place. However, these differences made internship a lot more though provoking and involving, because real data and real numbers are more interesting and more difficult to follow and examine than those in books. I learned a lot about the company, for instance how subsidiaries operate and what the functions of financial block of the company are. …show more content…
Also, it helps me experience real activity in the company, instills the skills of teamwork, discipline, responsibility and attention. Now I know which areas I don’t want to work in and aware of the necessary competencies for the job. Also, internship shaped my perception of working in the financial departments, and helped me to compare this year and last year experience, which helped me in making decision about my future career and studies. Moreover, this work experience helped me to believe in my own strength and knowledge. The best thing about this internship is the people with whom I met. They shared their experiences, pointing out my mistakes, gave feedback. In addition, communicating with them, gave me hint about characteristics you need to have to get to a particular position. This summer job did not change my life, but it helped me to understand that I really want whether I will be comfortable in this environment and whether it is necessary to develop further in this direction. I felt myself pretty comfortable, when it comes to face deadlines, making reports, analysis and researches and I think, University made us more competitive and stress resistant, which helped a lot on
I was doing my internship in LaGuardia Community College. LaGuardia Community College is one of the many two year institutions that is part of CUNY, New York City’s Public Colleges. CUNY is a public university system that offers an affordable, well-rounded college education. My job title is Lab Tech and I was stationed in the B-building. I was working directly under Mercedes Acosta who is the supervisor of the Lab Techs in Math Engineering and Computer Science (MECS) department at LaGuardia Community College.
This is a fun, exciting, and cheerful game. It has bunches of people watching others. It makes me feel good when I walk up to the plate. I always feel like I’m at home when I step onto the field. I play my position and have fun doing it.
Internships let actual corporations get to know about you and increases your chances of getting a job right out of college. I also have to research other options for jobs in different fields. Being focused on one is good but to make sure I have multiple options I have to find
While I do not consider it a failure now at the time I was definitely frustrated with myself and considered it a failure. When I had to repeat my junior year I was mad at myself for not be able to complete the school year. As time went on I was able to focus on the positives in the situation and I was able to finally accept that I was not prepared for my senior year both emotionally and academically considering I missed so much school. If I did continue on to senior year I would not have been close to prepared as I am now for college. I ended up repeating my junior year due to the fact that I missed close to two-thirds of school due to a medical condition.
I have frequently tried to impact the lives of others through service, and found that each attempt has also had a profound impact on my own life. This phenomenon is especially true about my Congressional internship with the Hon. Nancy Pelosi, Democratic Leader of the House of Representatives. Working for Leader Pelosi, I learned that service is about the people who are served, and not just about abstract ideas. I learned to serve others best, not by acting as their savior, but rather as their partner- a partner that empowers them to live better lives.
“So guess where we’re going over spring break?” “Where?” I asked my mother. “Where going to St. Louis to visit a wax museum.” When she told me about this trip I was not thrilled.
The internship was related to accounting and business analytics. It was my first foray into a corporate work environment and my first experience working abroad. While I had spent time preparing for the work I would be doing,
On the very first day of school, I began to plan my Senior Project. I wanted to piece together a project that would mean something to me and be beneficial to others. I came up with the idea of collecting donations for homeless people and delivering them to shelters. A close family member of mine was homeless for two years, and because of this, I hold a special place in my heart for homeless people.
Next year at Embry-Riddle I plan start studying Cyber Intelligence and Security. Ever since middle school I knew I had a developing interest in the field of computer science and spent most of my time building the skills to excel in my classes. One of the first projects I got to use the computer on was a video for the Oregon Trail. I decided that it would be best to design an advertisement to showcase the facts in a new and creative way. When my group turned the project in, and it was shown to the class my teacher rewrote the assignment according to what we did and used it as an example of great work when recruiting new people.
It allowed me to apply the knowledge and expertise I had acquired, boosting my confidence and sense of fulfilment as I saw my skills in action. Usually when we finish an automation, we would go back to the Client to ask for the time savings they have received since using the automation. I had never felt such a sense of pride and satisfaction for all our automations to boost their efficiency by 50 to 90%. Seeing the impact of my contributions and how my abilities were valued during the internship was truly motivating. Moreover, the chance to further develop my skills was invaluable, helping me expand my capabilities and grow as a person.
How was my developing education during Freshman year and Senior year? When growing up in my house there were two different types of language based on parents by my dad only speaking Spanish and my mom speaking both English and Spanish. And at the age of 8 years old my mom and dad took me and siblings to Mexico and studying, but learning new ways how to write and read. Made me suffer a lot, even though my mother and father always made me practice and not forgetting allowed me to understand many things. And at the age of 13 years old my mom and my dad brought me back to the United States to study and for me it was really difficult because I was already used in writing and ready in one language for me it was basically like for me knowing a new
The person who I am working with is a 29 year-old Caucasian female. She is single with no children. She graduated from college with a Bachelor 's in psychology. Currently she is attending graduate school full time, and works part time for the local city in the sporting events. She is the eldest child in her family, and has one brother and sister.
During my high school days, I was a really shy person. I didn’t like to talk in class because I was nervous what my classmate will say about my response, I didn’t join anything activities or sports teams and I didn 't have a lot of friends. But I knew it was something I need to overcome sooner or later. During my Sophomore year, I wanted to change who I am, so I decided to join track since I like to run. But if I didn 't join track I wouldn 't be who I am today.
In this case, students experience the atmosphere of the work and familiar with the business environment, so that they understand the requirements of the employee, and it is beneficial to find own ability and the gap between the enterprise and the school. Gain Confidence: We may not have the experience yet, or even the confidence to do the job we think we want, however, most internships train students on-the-job and provide a fantastic learning experience for them to build their confidence. This confidence show, especially if you are in the middle of a phone or in-person interview. Build Your Network: Building your professional network is just as important as building your experience. Internships allow students to connect with professionals that are involved in similar work. It’s important to build your professional network.
