For me to be a good change agent, I would bring my talent of being understanding. I would be understanding of every situation, and allow my sensitivity to shine through. To be a change agent that will make a difference, I would bring my talent of being authentic, and going with how I feel. When reading the IAMFC Code of Ethics and AAMFT Code of Ethics I found that they compare significantly, much more than they contrast. Many of the principals coincide. For example, the topic of multiple relationships is one of the many principles that parallel in many codes of ethics. The IAMFC Code of Ethics encourages family counselors to “avoid whenever possible multiple relationships, such as business, social, or sexual contacts with any current clients or family members” (Section A). Similarly, the AAMFT Code of Ethics also requires that therapists “make every effort to avoid conditions and multiple relationships with clients that could impair professional judgment or increase the risk of exploitation. Such relationships include, but
Healthcare providers rely on ethical codes to establish guidelines and standards for addressing issues that arise. Associations representing the professional organization are tasked with the duty of developing and tailoring a code of ethics to assist its members to understand expectations in their professional role. For example the American Health Information Management Association and the American Physical Therapist Association established a code of ethics for its members. Each association considers the relation of the health professional obligations and constructs a code of ethics to serve as guidance to the professional.
The NAADC Code of Ethics are stipulations that dictate the attitudes and behaviors of people. The NAADC Code of Ethics provides guidance for individuals in the addictions behavioral health field to perform as honest and virtuous professionals. The codes suggest identifying your own strengths and weaknesses, skills, and areas that need improvement. The NAADC codes were established to direct the members. The regulations are the criteria of behavior for addiction experts. Each of the policies were created as a record of the ethics in the profession and as a manual for molding clinical decisions. Using the NAADC gives the professional a foundation to use when working with a client whose morals are different than your own.
After carefully reviewing NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and Statement of Commitment I first analyzed its Conceptual framework, it sets forth the responsibilities as a childcare personnel & the professional responsibilities of childcare workers including childcare leaders as well the code of conduct framework of professional responsibilities. Furthermore it’s separated into four sections, however each section covers the following area as a professional relationships with any children that personnel come in contact with whether they attend the childcare center or contact during trips & or picking the children up from school, relationships with families in & out of the childcare center, professional relationship among colleagues, and relationships & interactions amongst the community and society.
Chris McCandless, whose story is analyzed in Into the Wild, by Jon Krakauer, is a young adult who decides to leave his known habits and material belongings behind and live a completely self-sufficient life in the wilderness, a choice which ultimately leads to his death. In doing that, he also forfeits his family and friends. With that in mind, a question can be posed regarding the ethics of said behavior. As a childless, single and financially independent man, Chris McCandless has absolute ownership of his body and thus his decision to continue doing a sport that he knows can kill him is ethically defensible.
Values Conflict in Homelessness The National Association of Social Workers (NASW, 2009) Code of Ethics is a guide to social workers’ practice by offering standards, values, and principles. The Code of Ethics is useful in facilitating the social workers’ decision-making process when he is presented with complicate ethical issues. Ethical issues arise with conflicting values, principles, and standards.
The NASW Code of Ethics provides social work practitioners with resources for ethical decision making, serving as a guide to professional code of conduct. The Code of Ethics is divided into four sections, which summarize the profession’s mission and values, an overview of the Code’s main functions which includes a guide for dealing with ethical issues and dilemmas, and it provides ethical principles which are based on the core values that inform practice (NASW, 2008). The NASW provides resources and useful information when faced with ethical decision making, such as ethics consultation. Through the application of the NASW Code of Ethics, my work is guided by values, ethical principles, and ethical standards. In this instance, the Code is
Planning is transforming socially, but to achieve change it has to bring together, politicians, planners, and residents (Sandercock, 2004). Citizen’s opinions and rights should be taken into consideration. It is the number one rule in the planning process for participants. It says, “recognize the rights of citizens to participate in planning decisions” (Ethical, n.d.). Cities cannot progress unless they change their ways of doing things. To find out how a city is actually doing it has to see itself from an outside prospective. They will most of the time see that what they though was normal is actually something they grew accustomed to. A way that can lead to planners being progressive is to use a therapeutic approach. This approach involves “the “whole person” to be present in negotiations and deliberations, but being prepared to acknowledge and deal with the powerful emotions that underpin many planning issues” (Sandercock, 2004).
Aim for something like, exploring and learning new ways to achieve the target. Don’t stride, take small steps. This will not only help you minimize the failure possibilities, but it will also boost your morale. 2. Think before you leap
Most people want to improve themselves in some way, whether it is to lose weight or give up smoking or increase their confidence. Self-improvement is something that we carry out over a life time, but it is a task that can require a lot of motivation. Keeping your motivation levels up and steady can be a job in itself. In order to achieve the motivation required for self-improvement, we need to look at the three keys that will help us succeed in our goals. 1) INSPIRATION
Always see yourself succeeding. Being successful is your main objective and if won’t think success then your dream might fade before you achieve it. Thinking success will keep your mind focused on what you want to be hence, it is a vital feature for any entrepreneur to have for them to realize success. 2. Always Plan
Third is not being shy to ask peers or the psychology department for advice about something you are dealing with and trying it in the classroom. Fourth is to be patient with yourself, no one was born
