During Early America, our Founding Fathers declared that each man in America is entitled to a set of rights to protect themselves and from the government. The 1st and 2nd amendments guarantee each American is entitled to The Right to Bear Arms by “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." I 've come here before today to ask you here today if you feel you are in danger of the gov’t. I 've got a proposition for you young Americans; if you are in danger of the gov’t and are obliged to fall into submission of their so called corrupt ways stand up and make a difference and stand for a new change in the American way of life. Australia a country and government very similar to ours had a school shooting in 1996 where there was a killing spree in which 35 people were killed and 23 wounded. Prior to the Port Arthur shooting there had a been 18 mass shooting in the country of Australia. After the Port Arthur attack, there had been 1 mass shooting where one man shot his wife children and himself. In America, there the last mass shooting that was on the news was one the 2 of December this year in San Bernardino, California. 14 People had been killed and 17 had been wounded. Wouldn 't you agree that this is Blasphemy? We have a country cannot go one month without having a major televised mass shooting and rebuke. I know many are are saying that guns help us keep our freedom, guns help us keep a non-corrupt government. Many of you are right and I agree with you that guns do help us in ways but what I am saying is that we should have tighter restrictions on accessing guns. We are not being tumultuous by opposing these laws, we shall not accept this inheritance that the previous generation gave us, we shall distinguish ourselves from them, we shall not be fettered , we shall not be be ignorant to these insolence, we shall not perpetuate any longer, We shall be
Gun Control Essay: My view on gun control is that there should be stricter laws on the issue and harsher punishment regarding illegal gun carry. I also believe there should be a mental evaluation of all individuals, wanting to purchase handguns or military-assault rifles and gun permits because a criminal history check isn’t enough to qualify if someone is allowed to carry a deadly weapon. I’m not saying to eliminate the process of a criminal check, but to incorporate both the mental evaluation and criminal history to give someone the right to carry. I believe in the Second Amendment, the right to bear arms and self-defense but, many people abuse the power and capability of what a gun can truly do.
On December 15th, 1791, the Second Amendment was adopted, allowing people the right to bear arms. The vast amount of mass shootings that have occurred recently lead to a debate on the Second Amendment which is at the top of the media frenzy. When the Second Amendment was created, the society was much different then it is now. The current society has modern guns capable of dishing out six hundred plus bullets a minute. Back then in 1791 when the Amendment was first created, all people could make were muskets firing single shots at a time before reloading which took its time.

Next, some people say that they feel safe and secure when they have the right to bear arms as it can protect them from bad guys. However, with guns, people usually die. Moreover, without proper training it is also not safe to the users. This is the modern world, if someone kills someone or hurts someone in your family or you, does not give you the right to use deadly weapons to defend yourself. There are services which are there to protect people.
I. Issues The debate on firearms in the state of Tennessee has been centered around reducing violence and possession of the right to the Second Amendment. Recently there was a shooting at Tennessee State University, that left one person dead on campus. The fatal shooting happened while a group of students were playing a dice game in the courtyard of the school. This happened because of the other students were not properly prepared and educated on their right to bear arms.
“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” The second amendment was created to make sure that state militias were able to continue to be armed for defense and also make sure that individuals that were citizens had a right to own guns. When the first ten amendments(the bill of rights) were fabricated, the American people were convinced that we needed militias to protect our free state. Today our government is very strong with our defense and military and we no longer depend on our militias.
According to the New York Times, 486 people have died from mass shootings since 2000. Most of time, the shooting ends before police can even make it to the scene. The amount of shootings have increased in the past seven years. The United States has been trying to find ways to prevent school shootings since the massacre at Sandy Hook elementary.
Mass Shootings in the U.S. Three hundred forty six mass shootings occured in the United States last year. It is now February and thirty mass shootings have already occured. Seventeen of these being on school campuses. These numbers have significantly increased since the 2000’s. Harvard School of Public Health showed that about every sixty four days, a public attack occurs.
It has been shown by those who cherish their Second Amendment that the school walkouts are mostly due to two things; kids wanting to ditch class (who didn 't while growing up?) and the anti-gun lobby working to make it happen. It is rarely based on hardly any of the children really knowing anything about guns at all. Today, as New London kindergarteners show, this is clearly the case, as reported by NBC CT. "We love school! We love school," chanted the Connecticut students in a video posted on Facebook.
According to German Lopez who wrote the article “I’ve covered gun violence for years. The solutions aren’t a big mystery”, Australia responded to gun control by banning certain guns like semi-automatics. Since then Australia’s firearm homicide dropped by 42% in the 7 years after the laws passed and its fire arm rate fell by 57%. These numbers are real and so are the results. It could be like this everywhere if gun control is put into
School shootings in Colorado, Connecticut, and Oregon were all caused by a gun falling in the wrong hands. Americans wept as the news unfold about the children massacred by behaviorally disturbed individuals in school
Ever since the inception of this country 240 years ago, guns have been an integral part of the American identity; a sense of lawlessness, individualism, personal autonomy and freedom. They were the tools that liberated us, and gave us independence over a tyrannical, unrepresentative empire. However, in more recent years, these tools have been used more and more frequently in mass shootings, some of which are occurring at schools, targeting teachers and children. Since the infamous shooting at Columbine High School 19 years ago, we have had several shootings at schools, and we tend to get “thoughts and prayers”, a gesture with good intentions, but little actual progress made. This problem can be contributed to the increasing power of guns, and a lack of mental health coverage, gun

SPEECH Gun control has been an issue of importance for many years. Gun owners who obey the law should not be restricted from purchasing, or waiting more than a few days to get their firearm. I do agree that background checks should be done before purchasing a firearm, along with smaller mental health tests. People are being irrational by thinking that if guns are pushed back, or completely outlawed, no one will get hurt. This is only going to lead to more gun smuggling in the United States.
