They are balancing freedom and equity, promoting shared values, do what’s right no matter the consequences are, places greatest value on hard work and diligence. There is also unethical behaviour at work. Many types of unethical behaviour exist. This literature review will be based on illegal transaction at work. Illegal transactions are transactions that are prohibited on the workplace. They are not according to the law or authorised by the law. It can be committing fraud, drugs transactions, stealing, faking documents, corruption or illegal social exchange. Corruption is one of the main illegal transactions. Economists have traditionally observed that corruption becomes possible only when 3 factors are available. They are the agent, a principal and a third party who depend on the agent to gain or lose. An agent becomes corrupted when he decides to sacrifice the interests of his principal to his own benefits, thus he breaks the law. According to Banfield there are 3 measures that can help to reduce corruption.
