The story I have chosen is When Grizzlies Walked Upright, retold by Richard Erdoes and Alfonso Ortiz. In this story, you will read about the way the earth was brought about in a story that has been passed through time by the accent Indians who walked the earth before us. This essay will include the background of the story describing the surroundings and the hardships they had endured within this story. The characters of this story have all gone through such pain and loss within all of their accomplishments. The Cheif of the Sky Spirits has given life to this world, but in return, he loses his precious daughter to the world he has created. The Grizzlies were given the gift of life to be allowed to walk on their own two feet and speak the language of the humans.
