The memoir, Handbook for an Unpredictable Life by Rosie Perez, talks about how Lydia robbed a store. Lydia abuses her gun rights and she just using the pistol for fun. Lydia steal for fun and Rosie knew stealing was wrong. Rosie found out about her mother’s illness schizophrenia because Lydia always speak out her mind. Lydia is a open book.

The internet has changed the way we live our daily lives. It changed the way we socialize and has impacted the way we communicate. In the New York Times article, “Addicted to Distractions” by Tony Schwartz, it discusses how the author realized that his addiction to the internet prevented him from creating personal goals that will benefit him. For example, our author found himself one evening reading the same paragraph repetitively before concluding that he just can’t simply focus on the content of the book. This horrified the author because he once found pleasure in reading books, and now instead of reading them he finds himself spending countless hours on the internet.
What is the right thing to do? Ellie Wiesel believes people should do the right thing, but more importantly these should choose a side. Indifference is worse than anger, rage, and hatred as Ellie said, “Anger can at times be creative. One writes a great poem, a great symphony, have done something special for the sake of humanity because one is angry at the injustice that one witnesses”(Elie Wiesel, The Perils of Indifference). With indifference people are only punishing the victim and helping to achieve the goal of the unrighteous.

Ever since the beginning of time humans have made interpretations of how the world will appear and function in the future. Sometimes these interpretations can be correct, but can also be very incorrect at the same time. The period of time in Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is similar to today's society regarding the lack of social skills, and the growing addiction to technology, although some may say that technology is different today because it is an efficient way to access a broad amount of information. The first similarity the novel shares with the modern era is the regard to the lack of social skills society has developed over time.
